Bismarck just became Balmung 2.0 at this point really, it's a good thing for Balmung, but a bad one for Bismarck.

Take what I say with a grain of salt since I only know about this event second hand from others rather than from the original organizer, but from what I had heard, even the organizer didn't plan on the event being this long. It really wouldn't surprise me if there's no one actually orchestrating it all and it's just people going in as a social hub at this point outside of anyone's control.
At the very least it'd be nice if people could disperse into the main cities and other zones, splitting that large of a crowd into 3 zones where the servers likely could handle a larger amount of players would still let people hang around as a large social gathering without it also affecting people trying to play the game normally. I don't think it's particularly fair that people who just want to play on their home server are effectively told to go to another server to be able to enjoy MSQ or whatever they were planning to do in the zones affected.
On a side note, I don't mind the idea that 1 or 2 of the servers in Materia could act as social hubs considering everyone is allowed to visit, hell it may even spring life into the queues and PF there; on the proviso that people don't just congregate into 1 zone on 1 server. At the very least spread out so that people playing don't get affected by the congestion.
People arent there to queue for roulettes, you can look at that entire pile of people over there, not a single person is queuing roulettes, it's basically a gpose/afk hangout and the original organizer already said they're preparing another event for winter "winter bash" in which they plan to do the exact same as they did here, so they know what they're doing and that they're being a nuisance but dont care.Take what I say with a grain of salt since I only know about this event second hand from others rather than from the original organizer, but from what I had heard, even the organizer didn't plan on the event being this long. Multiple people told the organizer on X that they're being a nuisance to the already not many players on Materia, and the majority response was that people could world hop to a different server if they were bothered by it and that they had the right to have fun.
The event finished a week ago. Shout as I might (when I can access Eastern La Noscea), or when it over flowed into NN, I'ts not changing perceptionsSo I would guess not every zone is created equal, in terms of having capacity. Since you can have places like Limsa several hundreds of players without issue, for instance.
Asking Square to change how zone loading seems like an unlikely fix, like maybe they could add some dynamic way of changing zones to have instances due to demand in the future, but by that time I would guess the party might be over.
Here's what I think is the best course of action for you guys. Find the event organizer and tell them the issue. bring some friends... be polite and say your concerns which are just regarding doing your msq and nodes. Then ask if maybe they could move it somewhere like one of the housing wards like maybe Mist or one of the hub cities? I've seen huge crowds in such places, like hundreds.
I know, I visited a few days ago to see if I could do an expert roulette there. My thought around "springing life" was more of a long-term hope that, as people come to visit, then even queues could hopefully be a little shorter.
It is admittedly a vain hope.
While I don't have issues with people wanting to create their own social events, I agree with you on peoples response; it's incredibly selfish to ask people to not use their home server because you want to throw a party. At the very least organize it over multiple servers or zones to prevent congestion.
Since the social aspect of the party is not against the ToS, several have provided the suggestions to the party goers that
1.) They could move to the empty housing wards (25-30) on Mist that are currently unoccupied and unused. Their response: MIST IS UGLY.
2.) They could set up PFs to advertise movement/alternation of their party on the other worlds in OCE, since this party was posted on X, and then spread through word of mouth. Surely the CROSSWORLD PF ingame will help with getting the message that "Your party is on another World" across. Their response: How do you think we can move hundreds of people onto another server? (You can do it for multiworld hunt trains but you can't do it for a pArTy?)
We get told that the more we complain - the more people are going to stay out of spite.
They tell us that world hopping is easy - but refuse to do it themselves:
Again, we want to reiterate that we are not trying to END the party - we just need people to show consideration for what is essentially a stranger's home.
You won't just rock up to someone's house, decide to set up camp in front of their garage, block entry and then tell the original occupants to go do what they need to do in their OWN house somewhere else in real life, would you?

I recommend blanking out the names in MS paint to comply with forum rules.
It's very easy for the voyagers to suggest Bismarck natives server hop to do their content however most of the people that would need to do that are sprouts who may not know how to server hop and may not be in novice network or an FC so may just give up and decide that since they can't progress in the game they might as well unsubscribe.
World hopping also does not work for timed nodes. The response to that was just world hop and buy from the message board but why should we?
I'm all for more traffic in Bismarck but not if it consists of a group of people just hogging one area, not doing content and restricting people that want to actually play the game from doing so.
It's all just nsfw gposing and (literal) sex on the beach, if most of the X posts are anything to go by.
Also, I'm pretty sure they have stated the event will last as long as people show up for it. I don't think there is an actual end date, from the organizer. It's not even like they are distancing themselves, they are still actively participating in it.
How they make instances is actually to run a separate server program. This has been evident in no better place than the hunt system, where the hunts reset in a way that is evident of an entire server program being shutdown and restarted.
When there has been hardware failures, they say the affected zones and only specific instances are on specific machines. Common exceptions are wards though, where whole batches of 6 are often on the same machine.
So what I'm saying is that in the way SE does things, they would probably want to create these instances on entirely different machines, which is tricky but not necessarily impossible. The best example I can think of SE seeming to make dynamic instances is really the duty servers, so they may have a method for it available, but I doubt it's something they'd be able to just copy over. However if just 1 extra instance would help, they could add it during a maintenance, but as I mentioned I doubt they will. We can hope they do anyway.
