I'm sorry, but this is the laziest possible way they could implement hats. "We'll just either hide the ears or let the ears clip through." That's pathetic. I can see taking 6+ years to do this... IF you're going to put earholes on every single headpiece, but if the solution was to just hide em or clip em, they could have just done that years ago now. This isn't some big win in my book.

I don't even wear hats, but I am happy we will have options and I may just adjust some glams to include them. We take the crumbs we can!

I would argue that it's already on that slide. The choice is to try and get CS3 to move it off the slide or to try and accelerate so hard that SE buckles.
