Thank you Yoshi P! And thank you for Tactics Remaster!
Thank you Yoshi P! And thank you for Tactics Remaster!
Thank you for the Live Letter. It was really good actually, I was really impressed now I'm watching the whole thing beyond OC.
More of this should only be good. (but you can't do the stuff like savage FT high-end while short-changing casual for best part of 2 expansions. Its too much, and you'll have to answer either in a live letter or out of it, so...)
I was just too disappointed to find out that, as I suspected, it was just too late for OC and there was nothing you could be expected to do for players like me. To find out there might be another Criterion, Chaotic, FT mistake coming down the line with the Deep dungeon it was too much.
The only thing that would have made me happy was if you moved in the opposite direction with FT, and limited joining to parties of 8, and made the mixing pot blind and forced it into duty finder, so people could only plan for small parties. They were never going to be able to do that.
(Please get a translator so that your not misrepresented. They were speaking for ages and still all I've got is 'no normal because of cost'. Even now there was lots of nuance I won't get to know unless I learn Japanese for myself.)
Thankyou for the live letter. It was really good. Really impressed given how hard it must have been to do.

Only just got to the bit about insults...
>_>
<_<
Heard, but are you going to include calling fellow players 'snipers', just for trying to play the game though, in that though? Or does it just depend on who is insulted?

... So a regular raid instead of a new type of content ? I agree the system itselfs needs to be way better, but that would kill the idea itself and make it not worth it imo.The only thing that would have made me happy was if you moved in the opposite direction with FT, and limited joining to parties of 8, and made the mixing pot blind and forced it into duty finder, so people could only plan for small parties. They were never going to be able to do that.
Keep trying your best Dev Team with whatever weird corporate shenanigans are going on in the background.
I'm disappointed about 7.3 but I'm sure (At some point) we'll bounce back - it's not like what's on offer is terrible - I just want more.
The dev team can turn shit around eventually. I'm not expecting people to stick around or tolerate "Eventually" but I'll be here for it.
Thank you for charging the same and providing less.
Foolish me, I keep forgetting that having players with "full time jobs" is a sound excuse for providing less content.

Alright let's go through the list
Since ARR, the game has given "Casuals" more and more content. Giving them the ol "Respect my Time" type beat.
"Casual" Content:
- Introduced Story Mode 8 Man Raids after Coils were made with hard core players in mind
- Introduced the Gold Saucer as a time waster and mini game hub
- Introduced a coin system to the 24 man series to streamline getting tomestone upgrade in a non savage setting
- Introduced Duty Support in Shadowbringers and since went back and kept adding Duty Support to older dungeons, meaning you don't have to interact with anybody in the MSQ except for 8 Man trials
- Streamlined dungeons to be the same hallway with different wallpapers, basically turning it into a science.
- Introduced more and more roulettes to make it easier and less time intensive to cap for a week and grab tome gear
- A constant stream of Map content you can do with anybody for free rewards
- A constant stream of glamours given out for free or minimum effort
- Island Sanctuary taking the systems of Ishgard Restoration and turning it into a solo minimum time investment map upgrade spreadsheet system for free glamours and mounts
- Relics have been dumbed down and their time investments removed to make alt job gearing easier
- Every 4 months you get a trial, new story, either 4 floors of an 8 man "raid" (read: Trial) or a 24 man raid to do weekly for gear, whatever extra bits and bops, PVP for even more rewards.
- Daily Beast Tribe quests for leveling help and extra rewards
- Weekly Custom Deliveries to help level your DoH/DoL
- Deep Dungeons where the story caps at floor 30 to make alt job leveling as easy as possible.
- Variants that are repeatable "open dungeons" with extra rewards
"Casuals" are rightfully the most targeted players in the game, cause ultimately a stream of casual low key content every 4 months is what keeps people happy. Stuff you can drop in and out of with minimal time investments.
Compare this list (and I'm probably forgetting a bunch) to the introduction of "Hard" content over the last 10 years
- 2 Ultimates per Expansion, if the devs can manage (see DSR and if unlucky the next Ultimate)
- Criterion and Criterion Savage, nowhere to be seen for DT
- Exploratory Zone "Hard Dungeons" like DAL, DRS and now FT
- Chaotic Alliance Raid
While I'm surely forgetting stuff, there is an objective fact here. Hard Content is niche, and even harder content is more niche. Acting like they're "short-changing casuals" for 2 Expansions is ignoring just how much of this game is designed with "respect muh time" in mind and how little they innovate on systems from 10 years ago for "Hard content" compared to the more casual content like Cosmic Exploration.
I mean technically you payed about 40 Euro/Dollar for the expansion and all patches for that expansion (already released patches and those still to come). And the monthly fee is to get access to the servers. So in my opinion that 40 Euro/Dollar give me a lot in return throughout the whole expansion.
I'm really confident the playerbase would have all started clearing the instance as it is, if they'd understood they were meant to help each other, and that repeating progress a lot before first clear , was the expectation
But i dint want to turn this thread negative. If someone wants to take issue with me, please start a new thread, I'm just 'answering' Sekund.
