It's like 100% casual content so I mostly take a break a month into the patch.

I just don't understand where the "this isn't enough content" argument is coming from.
I've been playing since 2.0 launched and THERE ARE STILL THINGS I HAVE NEVER ACHIEVED IN THIS GAME. Stuff like climbing to floor 200 of PoTD. hell, I haven't even finished Eureka Orthos... it's yet another thing on my mega backlog of todo list.
I still haven't caught Elan Skaad. (@#$% you, Salad.) Or Cinder Surprise. Or Ruby Dragon. Went Ocean Fishing for the first time in a year last night and got the friggin 10k achievement for One River, netting me a new minion and reminding me there is still so much Ocean Fishing I've yet to do.
I still haven't gotten BLU to 80 or finished out the last of the goals there, or done any BLU challenge logs, or finished collecting all the spells, or....
I am missing SOOOO many PVP achievements and records.
I'm still missing a handful of EX trial clears that I need to go back and do. I've never done an Ultimate. I didn't tackle this last tier of Savage (even though I want to cosplay Sugar Riot.)
I'm a middle aged adult with a career and a spouse, although I don't have kids. I do know folks who have kids who somehow even manage to raid. (Thankfully, none of them are complaining about not having anything to do in this game. They're all proper casuals. They have to be!)
Content that doesn't interest me != There is no content to do in this game.

I really fail to see how its insufficient compared to any other patches in the game's history. Deep dungeon is typically like 20 hours of content just doing the runs to clear 4/5 times to get the big rewards. + There's going to be a special version of the final boss, and assuredly an achievement for doing the deep dungeon solo.
That's a big chunk of content.
Relic will most likely keep people in OC or make people do fates/other content. Also, I doubt most people will have completed Forked Tower by August so that's still on the table for a lot of players. Entirely new ranks of crystalline conflict ELO is interesting to me. I might try to get up there this season.
I haven't done cosmic exploration yet so I'll prob get started and im looking forward to the next zone.
I am slightly disappointed that we aren't getting a new Chaotic/Criteron/Ultimate right out the gate, but they will probably do Chaotic or Criterion for the 7.35 patch.
This update is only going to be lacking for picky players who don't actually engage with all of the game's content.
Please tell me what you expect them to add the game that will keep you busy playing all day every day for 4 months.
It's not the Devs fault you refuse to engage in all of the content available.

There is content in this game.
The issue is new content is not beefy and you finish it right away, you only get on like for 5 mins a day to do (society quests), or you do it once a week.
The other issue people are trying to bring up here is that the content is not spaced out properly. In 7.1 we went for a pretty lengthy period of time with nothing new except Chaotic, which most people didn't respond well to. 7.2, while not perfect, did attempt to stretch out the content releases, which we appreciate.
I am an achievement hunter (not like a super competitive one but I like seeing what I can get) and I still have things to get, but it's even obvious to me the reason people get irritated is they get left with nothing that interests them. They *want* a reason to get on.

And for every person that complains that the "new" content isn't beefy enough, there's another person out there relieved that they can spend an hour a day in OC, still feel like they accomplished something (since that's about how long it takes to farm the silver for a new piece of gear even if you don't get a demiatma or a job stone or something cool in the process) and then log off and go play Expedition 33 instead. There is content in this game.

It isn't healthy to live 24/7 in a virtual world.

I don't lol. I don't think other people in here do either. You completely missed my point. I even said OC, while not flawless, was the correct sort of content.

No.
People like you have been spouting this nonsense for 3 years now. At first it was "they need time uwu EW just finished they need 7 months between patches uwu." Then it was "We have SOOOOO much content coming out in Dawntrail LOOK AT ALL THIS CONTENT GIVE THEM TIME." And now we're halfway through Dawntrail with hardly anything bridging the gaps in the 100 months between patches and we have gotten less content than we got in Shadowbringers by this point, when the time between patches was 3 months. You are absolutely delusional to continue to support bad development practices for this long. They took their patch extension for covid, made it permanent, cut a bunch of staff and budget, and now they can't make anything. They over-promised content and delivered the most mid, underwhelming copy-paste junk a year later, and people see absolutely no end in sight. Are they not justified then in expressing their frustrations?
Are you friends with the billion dollar company? Why are you defending them so fervently? You realize they charge money for this right? It's ok to expect more from them when they've more than exhausted every single drop of goodwill they built up over the past decade. Mind you, if people end their subs, statistically they are highly likely not to return. idk how much you know about subscription-based business models, but this is bad because if people end their subs then the money goes bye bye. There's decades of MMO data demonstrating this in other games - it's not going to be any different for FF14.
