It does trike me as extremely odd that Chaotic has such a strict iLvl sync, minimum of 710 and max of 735, that's only 25 iLvls of "breathing room", when in terms of gameplay benefit, it is only as relevant as M4S.

If they move it to the Duty Finder at some point, then it should be possible to unsync in 8.0. However if it remains exclusively in the Raid Finder tab of the DF, you'll always have to do it the hard way.
I know this is off topic but..TGC Orlandeau Chaotic when?
Sort of agreed, I wouldn't be interested in doing it in easy mode. I'd rather just wait until it appears in another mind numbing moogle event.
Then again, when I now see someone on a Chaotic or a Savage mount I assume they just doing it to piss casuals off and they are an unpleasant person. It used to be this stuff was a flex and I admired the achievement. Lately I just thought probably a"dick-head" that thinks I should get gud or unsub. And when I see an ultimate weapon, I actually just assume 'probably a cheat'. It's kind of like how I feel when I see a tesla now. Except people who bought a Tesla before Elon revealed he was nasty lunatic don't have choice. High end players do have choice to exercise personal awareness.
Carry on though some people enjoy using any power they have to make people feel even a little bit shit. That's people, you just gotta live with it. The XIV community is nothing special anymore.

Have you considered, and this may sound insane, that they just think the mount is cool? People are very much allowed to do things for themselves.
More seriously though I'm not sure what to think of it. I thought initially that only Ultimates were content that should remain "pristine" and "out of time" (since they're basically fancy reworks of older content themselves and the hardest difficulty achievable). But now more content gets the same treatment like Criterion... or perhaps Chaotic as well. So what puts those apart from savage and extremes so that they cannot be unsynced? Genuine question.
Seriously lmao, I've been using my Shroud mount since I finally got it because I simply want to use the cool mount I ground out 40+ fights for pity tokens, "flexing on casuals" isn't even in my thoughts.
But also the guy you quoted isn't worth engaging with at all, his bit is exhausting.
Also to stay on topic, I agree with what someone said a few posts up - if Chaotic stays in the Raid Finder (which it likely will) then the odds of it being unsyncable are uh... probably zero! Which honestly, is fine, some high-end content should stay as something you need to actually, ykno, practice and learn. You can buy most of the rewards if you don't want to actually learn the fight, and if you want the untradeable loot enough then you can likely find it within yourself to lock in and prog and learn it. There's at least 2 discords I know of that host regular learning parties, there are people out there keeping the content alive and actively really wanting more people to learn it (because it's a fun and pretty well-designed fight!), you just need to actually exert a bit of effort into finding the resources to do the content.
Or you can throw a tantrum about ~discord gatekeeping~ like people in here enjoy doing, and learn nothing, and get no rewards. That works too.
Best thing would be to update the gear iLevel you can buy from it when new crafted gear comes out. They could have updated it to ilvl 745 gear with the new raid tier release but nope.
Also they could do a biweekly changes to what you can buy with the Clouddark Demimateria 1 & 2's. You know, keep the content alive. I'm just glad I got all my clears done and got my mounts because I knew the chaotic would be dead 2-3 months after it's release.
It only requires all 24 to soak the towers without vuln. stacks. If the two person towers only have 1 person, you get 1 vuln. stack and take 50k damage unmitigated for each (200k for each tower with zero people in them), which you would only be able to survive if you can unsync it starting next expansion.
