If you decide to use a bell to call your retainer from the wards, to give them items or manage the bazzar the slot your retainer had instantly becomes free for anyone to take. There is a bell to call your retainer in the merchantile wards, which in thoery is really conviniant, check the price of an item, go to the bell and put your items up for sale, then use the new feature allowing us to move our retainer to the wards. However this featuse has a huge flaw in that it only takes one bad timed use of the bell and you loose your retainer's slot in the wards.

Because of this I cannot use the Ul'dah wards because in the 5mins (possibly less) my retainer's slot was taken and all Ul'dah slots in Gugnir are taken.

Also if you use the bell to send your retainer to a full ward you just get the standard (in the case of my retainer) "Ok, I'll start now if you want" brilliant shes gone to set up shop, or has she...

@PV Really don't use the bell, dont fall for the false indication of convinance having that bell in the merchantile wards, you will loose your slot in the wards.
