That's an interesting rationale, but the combination of Cosmic Explo and Occult Crescent reveals a massive disconnect between devs and players, with the former content frankly being insulting.

It's certainly the case that few people are fond of waiting for things to happen (sorry, Dynamis), although it does allow socializing. But combined with the frenetic pace of DT dungeons, it feels like those creating recent content are stuffing crushed adderall up their noses making sure players never stand still.

I've been playing other MMOs and so many of the popular MMOs on the market drop Story Mode versions of their content on top of the more difficult Challenge Modes you know? FFXIV isnt accommodating every player, it's trying to funnel everyone into higher end content and more and more players are dropping off.

I'm not even sure in many instances their intent is too induce stress in the ways they have, I just generally think they are fairly creatively bankrupt, as more often than not the stressors they are creating usually just boil down to bad design as opposed to intentionally, and well designed stress.

It's really hard to figure out because they dont communicate at all, there is 0 transparency in their actions. Its like this mystery box that you have to pay for monthly and it can be anything. It's really hard not to be jaded at this phase. Its either them lacking direction or simply not having the talent to actually put out anything good. I hardly believe SE is holding them back, though its a popular theory that all resources are taken to other games and so on and so forth.

But I will say, it will be hilarious to see the reaction when FFXIV mobile will have more fleshed out systems than the mainline one.

It has enteres the death spiral of HC players , casuals leaving just makes HC crowd louder as the playerbase decreases untill more and more people leave and HC crowd (that will not leave) will have more and more say in the community.

Wow already had it happen few exp back from what i seen on the news , they basically have to do an ARR now just to stop that.

I dont think square has the money for ARR2 anymore..
