    5 is particulary wild to me. The main farming experience occult crescent has right now is not the relics, it's the zone gear, only useful if you aim to do the forked tower. But by doing only one version of the forked tower that is high end, they kinda wrote with fiery letters in the sky : this is only for a little part of the playerbase, when the said playerbase main complain over the past 3 years has been the lack of content with aimed for a larger audience. It feels kinda tone deaf. If you're not into high difficulty raid, there is no reason to farm occult crescent once you get your atmas. I don't get why they didn't went the Delubrum Reginae way. To me they fail to capture what makes eureka and bozja popular and still relevant to this day.

    And man, you have to be pissed off to create an account on the forum just to complain. That's the second person I see doing that today.
    - this, I highly agree with what u said, yoshi p and the devs really lost touch with what the community wants, dead content on arrival, and nobody gets to have fun other than the first 2 days when its fresh fates and critical engagement, and then it gets repetitive and not even worth grinding since you cant even use the gear since u cant do forked tower, relic atmas have higher drop rate in fates in tural zones not in occult crescent which is also baffling as it encourages u to not engage with the exploration zone, then what u do is grab 8 players and spam cannon strat gold farm till u buy all the glam and forget the thing exist... another piece of content which the casual playerbase wanted to play with friends for fun but cant even play it due to how they designed the system and difficulty, really disappointed how they marketed the game as massive multiplayer experience in dawntrail fanfest but none of the promises were kept, at this rate they are speedrunning their own death

    Overall I think Forked Tower not having alliance queuing / higher population instance is really making it rough
    There is a big difference between being able to tank and being pretty much immortal. If you can collect double digits of vuln stacks and not care, something is wrong. If you can sustain without the need for anyone else, something is wrong.

    A lot of CE mechanics are incredibly opaque and I seriously dislike "gotcha" mechanics that just WILL kill you until you've seen them a couple times. Also, who has been asking for harder content? People who do hard content are the only ones having been catered to so far in Dawntrail, while the more casual crowd has gotten nothing.

    I was talking about Forked Tower, i cleared ultimates and been doing savage raids on release, difficulty isnt gonna stop me, however this content is meant to be played with friends and mates that arent serious raiders etc. its a 48 player raid in a 72 player instance after all, the way the designed this restricts playing, the 3 ressurection limit for 5 bosses, being able to remember all the raidplan strats, managing 48 ppl, organizing same 48 inside the same instance and not getting snipers, convincing randoms to even join, having a 600 silver penalty every time u wipe, depending on rng weather to enter that lasts 2 mins only, requiring specific phantom jobs and role jobs, all these play a part in making this content only for the 0.000001% which means all the promises of replayable content available to be played with friends go down the drain

    FATES feel underutilized to me. After you've done the Atma farm, they almost feel unnecessary. They should at least drop a minimal amount of Tomes so that we can continue to use them to farm for relics.

    I'd like a better balance of FATES and CEs. Right now, the zone can be full and still feel empty because everyone is just constantly standing in the CE circles until they start and then 1 minute later there's another one to move to. FATES should me more plentiful and more rewarding. Eureka and Bozja zones both felt more engaging to me.

    I haven't been into OC much in recent days as the pathetic drop-rate of the Atma has completely soured it for me.

    However, I will say that I actually found Shadow Ranger quite useful. I was generally playing through OC as Sage, which means I die easily if/when I get hit. However, this S-Ranger ability proved pretty useful for quickly escaping attacks:

    Certainly found it more effective than 'Icarus', which requires a selected target to 'dash' to.

    The design of CEs are fine, other than the abysmal drop rate with no pity/guarantee (they should really improve this system). DPS and Healers instantly dying is more of an issue on how powerful tanks have become in regards to both DPS/healers in multiple ways - higher defensive values, more mitigation, more HP. The problem was already made apparent from Endwalker going into Dawntrail, but it just became more obvious to everyone else when Phantom Jobs themselves are the bulk of the DPS, so tanks get all the positive benefits while DPS/healers feel far more restrictive/weaker on their own jobs. In fact, I feel far more like a healer on a PLD running Chemist than I do as a healer running a phantom knight job. Higher survival over trading DPS, and yet more raising capability with Chemist when the goal is to survive and keep everyone alive to the end. If I want to opt for DPS, I can take Phantom Berserker and use tank's invuln / mitigation to make sure I survive through everything while under Rage...

    Meanwhile, Phantom Knight doesn't offer higher HP and Healer/DPS innately have lower defensive values than a tank does, so they aren't even treated equally. While Phantom Knight's skills can offer very strong mitigation, they're also on a fairly long cd... and the heal is practically useless in the face of vulnerability stacks and low HP. It's less of an issue when you become accustomed to the mechanic, but it certainly can be a dealbreaker to not have a better safety net while sacrificing far more potential damage in the process.

    Though I suspect everyone already knew this was already a thing from the complaints on the healer strike threads that I see are still active to this day... but Occult Crescent makes tanks being favored just more apparent than ever, lol.

    I think they really tried with occult. The CEs are challenging. The FATEs try to scale. Just the scaling doesn't work at all, and people are even gaming it, and we shouldn't hope they will fix that at all because it's bad and they still haven't done an emergency change.
    I think the problem is the community has changed. The sorts of people who want to hang around and help and even say hi are a rarity. They exist but they are such a minority now. (The game will never be what it was. Its tragic because WoWs special value was easy to recover. FFXIVs was far more precious and rare.)
    Except for Forked tower. They didn't even try to learn any lessons from EW casual drought or Chaotic, and they completely fckd that. In fact I think the game designers have taken the feedback personally and doubled down, and Yoshi isn't in control and they just do whatever they want and just don't care anymore. Actually a few too many of the CEs are maybe pushing hard extreme - (easy savage?) as opposed to Expert > hard extreme. But I don't have the energy to fight my own battles, let alone other peoples. CE challenge works for me. I was expecting a Fup like Forked, so just not bothered. Used to it. I might fall into it if my friends do. If not I won't be alone in not being bothered about giving it a miss.
    They really tried to listen to feedback with the actual field part, mistakes will happen. Another team oversaw the show piece instance, and they didn't try at all and just did what the F they wanted.
