    If op main complain is about gatherers then hes rightfully to trash talk devs about it. Even with penta melded gear some of the A quests are like pulling teeth for gold rank. Exploration is badly designed for miner/botanist at max level I can imagine it is hell to do just for leveling. Do i need to tell that A quests have some that require you to have like 720 at least mid if not penta meld gear from various crafters to not miss on huge points on relic progress?

    For just leveling in this dumb content i assume you need to prepare HQ melded/food gear at every quest breakpoint. It does not feel casual hop in to get levels.

    I started exploration as miner and i regret it every second, while everyone is having fun afking at base doing crafting.

    I’m not sure why you are saying “imagine how bad levelling is when A ranks are so hard” when A ranks are specifically designed to be content that isn’t easy

    If you want to macro with no food on mid tier pentamelded gear then simply do B ranks. The missions that give tier 4 data in the A rank are intentionally harder

    Like genuinely what’s so bad about there being a tier specifically for people who want to do a bit more

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    Cosmic (For quite a few issues it has), it still appeals quite heavily to casuals.. It is casual content that casual players can engage with quite extensively if they so wish...     I think the two of you are missing that the complaints are specifically about Gathering missions. You know, the ones that can't be macro'd? That can't be done back to back to back like the Crafting ones? That subject you to heavy rng? Nobody is complaining about the crafting A missions, because those are easypeasy with pentamelds and a macro given to you by a solver website. The issue is specifically how ass the Gathering side of this content is, Crafters are eating good while Gatherers got mega shafted.

    There is very few gathering missions that involve RNG. The only ones that can be annoying are the chain ones getting bad luck with eureka moments but I mean that’s what eureka moments are. Besides that the reduction ones are easy with the stellar action allowing you to do the 1000 GP rotation with 800 GP, the “collect 3 items from limited nodes in a line” is incredibly consistent and the “number and collectibility will both be scored” missions basically just want collectibility and again give the stellar action

    The only real problem with the gatherers is forcing you to wait for GP to restore but you can mitigate that by sharing it with the crafters. Well the “aetheryte” that we have confers stellar sprint, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch that by upgrading it we may get bonuses conferred to GP restoration, but as it stands right now yes I can see the GP restoration problem

    Strange how many people complain about how the game is too easy, or not difficult or complex enough, yet as soon as there is content that has a gated stat requirement of preptime and knowledge checks, everyone starts saying it is bad. This might be a good reason why the MSQ and combat jobs have to be on two-minute timers and very generous to players, or this happens. The content is not bad, you are.

    FF14 players had almost an entire year with the release of DT to level and BIS there, crafting and gathering gear with many old and new catch-up mechanics. Complaining about not being prepared for this is complaining about not being ready for the new extreme trial boss when you're only level 90. At some point, you need to rise to the expectations and perhaps this is the harder content that is not for you, like ranked CC, Ultimate raiding, or solo DD.

    I like the harder gathering A ranks as it is pushing me to the limits of my game knowledge to solve them as well with planning ahead and using resources that for the most part has been untouched till now. If you want to be cutting edge in most content, you need to know what BIS and a food buff is, why should gathering be different? You don't have to do all the A ranks, and this content is made to last a little longer than 24 hours.

    Some of these A ranks for gathers are really tough, but you don't have to do them all gold week one to get your items, and from the time of writing, I do not even think they are all unlockable.

    I have never complained about this game being "too easy", "not difficult", or "complex enough". Not once. So you can take that line and shove it right back up your *ss where you sh*t it out from.

    Also, this content starts at level 10... as in it was intended to attract new players to the crafter and gatherer roles, it was clearly not meant to cater to the hardcore omnis only. I you think it was, you're just wrong and you also need to go outside and touch grass.

    Also, Cosmic Exploration wasn't meant to be "cutting edge, hardcore content" like you seem to think it is. It was supposed to be for casual players and have long term goals for the more hardcore and dedicated players so they had something to do for a long time to come. If you think differently, you are wrong.

    Also, who cares about the A rank sh*t. I'm failing at the C and D rank sh*t because this isn't casual content used to level. It's f*cking SAVAGE content meant for hardcore only players.

    And there's my issue, the moment I take on a mission that involves Gatherer's Boon procs, I almost always seem to suddenly have terrible luck with it triggering, resulting in me almost always being unable to get a Gold, sometimes even Silver.

    My issue there is again, terrible luck with rng; I rarely seem to get enough of the required reduction items before I run out of GP.

    Those ones are super easy but, yet again, the rng is screwing me over frequently by having them not appear very often compared to the reduction and Gatherer's Boon ones. I know I can just repeatedly take on those missions and immediately abandon them to fish for the "easy" ones, but that just feels bad to do, and I shouldn't feel like I need to do that in the first place. I want actual difficulty, not tedium and the frustration of a bad rng streak

    It just feels like such a disconnect between the Gathering and the Crafting with this content. At the very least the between-mission GP situation needs to be fixed, because it really isn't all that fair how Crafters can just spam missions back to back to back while Gatherers have to wait between every mission or two so they start with full GP. I also think the nodes need to be shown on the map prior to taking on the mission, because some of them give you such a strict timer that you really need to start right next to a pair.

    On the flipside they're slightly better for red alerts, though, which makes it easier to get the 500,000 points to grind them out and also gives you more rewards in the 20 minutes you have.
