for as long as you dont enjoy the job. its not that deep. if the devs see nobodys playing it they'll have to address it...
also mch was fine in 6.4, you had no reason not to go back other than you didn't want to
I feel bad for you,lol
I didn't really see MCH locked out on Aether last tier. Prange always seemed to be the role we were waiting for next to healer so I don't think groups wanted to lock out potential fills so we didn't sit in PF forever waiting.
If MCH this tier does get locked out on a wide scale, that's definitely something SE should look into. There will always be a group or two that wants to min/max but if it becomes widespread then that's not really ideal for trying to get through the tier either for the MCH or the parties that decide to lock them out and wait longer to fill.
Rest assured that any party that locks out MCH, though we are yet to see the extent of dps checks for this tier (hoping P8S doesn't repeat itself with the state of job balance being the culprit there as well, more-so than a tougher dps check), are probably clueless on why MCH is bad and how BRD/DNC become statistically better than it. That being the fact that 7 jobs playing into buffs who all scale with potency buffs, gear, stats etc. will always outclass a neglected selfish dps like MCH that only has its own contribution to rely on, which is typically not worth bringing in any competent group if you're going for extra damage. Competent is the key word here however, as MCH is of course the better choice as player skill worsens. Unfortunately though, some denizens of PF either think they're a god gamer, are clueless about why rDPS metrics are the way they are, or both. An eternal struggle. Big coloured bar better than smaller coloured bar, apparently.
That said though, this has been a problem on and off since the start of Endwalker, so it's sadly to be expected. The only way to get through to SE by now is to entirely stop playing the job so it'll hopefully set alarms off and they'll realise that maybe people don't want to feel like a second-rate citizen in FFXIV anymore after years of putting up with it.
You do you.
Anyone excluding specific jobs from PF is a moron, the devs design fights to be beatable with any comp and even in FRU (which MCH only got a buff in afaik this patch) the DPS check is in the floor. The only people who exclude lower overall DPS jobs from PFs are damage meter addicts that only care about statistics on some website over the game that's right in front of them. So long as you can dodge mechanics and upkeep the rotation there should never be a valid reason for you to be excluded from a group on MCH barring maybe something dumb like static drama.
Hell MCH was actually kind of goated in m4s with the extra mit on the heavy raidwide spam while still pumping enough raw damage to skip Sunrise. I'm half convinced the people who do that crap don't even know how the game works and just want to appear competent to other mod junkies. Even the new EX has a non-existent DPS check where you can easily skip Bloom 6 which is supposed to be the big scary nerves check. Granted you can cheese it with heavy mit, not even needing a tank LB, but still. The boss dies long before the enrage even with several deaths.
It's also just very against ToS to tell other players what job to play. If you can get them to confirm it in-game, report it immediately.

FFXIV BESTEST MMO COMMUNITY EVAR
So you really suggest that he should bait someone into a ban for something completely harmless that didn't hurt him as a person in any way like wow man, I bet all the people around you are glad to have you.

Either way if we go by history, we'll probably see a lot of small reluctant buffs in bland potencies over the minor patches. Those were legion in Endwalker, specifically targeting MCH and not the two other rphys especially in the latter half of the expansion.
Considering I mainly play with my friends who aren't the kind of sweaty meta slaves that do this kind of thing? Yeah they are. The ToS exist for a reason, if I wanted that kind of toxicity I'd go to League of Legends or Overwatch 2. The GMs being very active in combating it is a large component of why I love XIV.
It's Endwalker all over again. Machinist is once again cooked. Since balance has a snowball's chance in hell of being updated before 7.3, expect it to be 7.4 (October-December) before the job is rebalanced if it even gets touched. They wrote up this statement about each role and how they "intend" them to be played and why they were balanced the way they were, but they forget that if the players don't like how something is playing or performing then it's a problem with the game, not a problem with the players
