I can't imagine there are any big changes happening. They have completely ignored some of the complaints and sent them to "working as intended" so this is probably something minor.
And for those saying to "just accept": I have had my character since vieras came out. I have taken thousands of pictures of her. She was mine and in the glamour community she was even recognized by some. I TRIED during Dawntrail to just live with the changes. I tried to think what the people on this forum were saying "I am just overreacting, I am sure I will get used to this" but after seeing her in cutscene after cutscene where she was unrecognizable and ugly I just couldn't anymore. And I say "ugly" because to me she isn't HER anymore. Her smile looks like a banana, her cupids bow is gone, her nose looked massive in every cutscene.
And I CAN'T fantasia her to look like herself anymore because THERE ARE NO OPTIONS TO.
I agree the character creation needs a massive overhaul. The options, as they are right now, are TOO limiting.
Also if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with the changes, how to get used to them or how to get used to playing a different character and staying happy then do say so because I have tried and I can't. It just isn't HER.

Yoshida also said that viera and hrothgar hat compatibility would be something that would be gradually introduced throughout Shadowbringers, nearly 6 years ago. I can't take him at his word anymore, especially with timeframes.

That was during Endwalker, not Shadowbringers. During Shadowbringers they maintained the stance that not having hats or the opposite sex was by design and wasn't a priority.
That narrative changed when they announced male Viera and female Hrothgar were in the works, but stated the other two variants for the races would take priority to hats.

Having a face 1 male Miqo'te, I'm feeling a little nervous. It feels like this race/sex/face combo is so unpopular that it's been at the bottom of the priority list, but on the other hand, it's 7.2 now. So I'm currently going between "it'll be the same as every update" and "maybe this is the time something good happens!" Or just something happens so I know where to go from there.

do we know conclusively if they updated the elpis npc models? if they have, then I'm not as worried about emet-selch as I could be. however if those still aren't updated, I'm nervous. any npc with a distinct lip shape is one i worry will get nerfed by the update...

Aymeric has a modified Au Ra face and I don't like what happened to those.
