Can Square Enix stop gate-keeping mid-core contents behind Savage ILvl on release?

If giving people without BiS a huge disadvantage on release (I don't know how many times I need to emphasise this) without BiS gear is how you "don't punish" them I don't know what to say.

Lock the new Exploration island in 7.25 behind 760 and 790 in the 7.45 expansion then.
It's "easy enough" and only people with BiS should be allowed in the 48-person savage raid amiright?

As someone who likes doing Savage, Ultimates, Chaotic and other endgame content with DPS-Checks I can tell you that...
.. I dont want someone who cant even clear Savage in my Chaotic Partys.
I rather have someone who can press buttons and doesnt hold me and everyone else in the party back.
The best way to do this is to lock partys to higher ilvls.

The only time the gear is useful is this time's Chaotic gear for FRU, which btw is extremely marginal anyway.
There was literally no point getting the Criterion gear for "BiS" purposes back in EW. Stop gaslighting.

I'm talking about Criterion dungeons (A huge flop btw. Please stop making those forever) and Chaotic raids.

HEY! Don't say that about Variant/Criterion the content itself was good just the incentives weren't and you definitely didn't need bis to do it either. (Granted I never completed them because it was difficult to find folks for it for lack of incentive but I did play them - gear wasn't really the deciding factor on success)

Ask for Chaotic Raids... pretty sure the whole point was to give a form of catch up gear not to pre-require you to have 730. Having Savage raid gear probably helps but the rewards from chaotic is 730 gear so Savage Equivalent some of it even being better than some savage pieces if you desired to minmax.

And even then it doesn't really matter. Since crafted gear will always be available like a patch later... so you weren't being gate kept by Square.
You could be gate kept by other players and if you were that really sucks.

I did Savage raiding but I avoided doing Chaotic because it had all the issues I thought it was going to have. I didn't do it because why would I go through a bad experience for ilvl gear I already got.
So the whole point of it - if you were to do it... is to get the 730 gear.
Not the other way around.

They could just remove the gear completely and standardize stats for any given content. It's already pointless, no open world, no open pvp (biggest driving factor for gear) only dumb boss battles in a tiny box with the same 8 mechanics ad nauseam and get downscaled everywhere anyway. There are no builds, no individuality, nothing. The whole game design is lost and the team should just be replaced asap.

I don't think savage is midcore sadly but extreme for sure but consider what people said as midcore is something you can enter without problem like Bozja and eureka

If midcore content is content that you can enter casually with no requirements or restrictions then what is casual content?

Bozja/Eureka is casual content. Extreme/savage is midcore content. There isn't much hardcore content in the game outside of week 1 savage and on-patch ultimate.

Imagine downgrading your gear just so you can get Criterion BiS, when you're already forced to upgrade your tomestone gear by 10 ilvls if you want Savage and Ulti BiS.

Criterion is Savage difficulty, of course it's going to use a tier's level cap. It's completely reasonable and functions exactly like Savage: you can enter with crafted gear, and the more you improve your gear, the stronger you become.

Your proposal of treating this content like Unreal, which is Extreme level, is the only thing that asks for a laugh-cry emoji.

Not to mention that fact that you have 4 whole months to get the gear. They might as well just remove gear entirely if they're gonna make the starter gear from the previous patch sufficient for endgame content. What purpose does it serve at that point?
