I am curious as to why you suddenly think raiders are the majority of the playerbase? Raiders are the minority. Casuals are the majority. Casuals have been begging for new content while they have constantly catered to the fringe of the playerbase with ultimate and chaotic. Casual content is what keeps this game afloat, and while Cosmic Exploration looks like utter dog crap, it will be popular. The day this game fully goes all in on raiding and extreme content, it dies.

You know battle casual content is a thing right?

Casual shouldn't exclusively refer to Crafting, gathering, and socializing (Events, venues, stuff like this)

I mean what is even happening anymore? It is like they are pulling out every stop to kill the game as slowly and painfully as possible. Extend the patch cycles, less quality and quantity, release a subpar (terrible imo) expansion and then what, struggle to release content with patches for 8 months?

What excuses are there anymore? They can't do basic things like ensure viera and hroth get access to NEW headwear items released well after the race's release. And they can't ensure big things like promised content WITH their patches, why do post patch patches have the patch content? What were they doing for 4 months?

They refuse to listen, refuse to produce quality content while also refusing to produce quantity and the community largely seems to think that is okay? We are being ripped off, this isn't how it should be.

To be fair, NM raids are mostly shallow, pulse-checks once you've seen the fight's gimmick more than once that are over in under 10 minutes. After that, the only thing that really matters is if you've outrolled the token you need from the 7 other randos. Once you have, the fight is basically irrelevant until next week's reset. That, and whenever there's new trials/raids, Yoshida always previews it and enters on his BLM to see the 1st 20-30 seconds of the fight before getting rolled for not being a tank. Nothing substantial. Maybe if he actually went in on a tank...

Look, I'm not particularly hyped about the Diadem 2.0/Island Sanctuary/Ishgard Restoration standing on each other's shoulders in a trenchcoat and renaming itself "Cosmic Exploration," but at least I can agree that it at least has a bit more going on than "boss arena I'm probably going to be sick of 3 weeks in."

But yes, they do spend a lot of time doing and showing absolutely mundane things during these Liveletters. I still remember Island Sanctuary's preview and Yoshida basically running around aimlessly. Probably doesn't help that majority of us on this side of the puddle do not understand the native language of the two guys hosting it.

The developers literally do not respect you.

They have shown absolute contempt for the playerbase with how they have approached job design.

They go out of their way to neuter transpose lines from 6.x, despite it not being well-known and was barely known about by the majority of the playerbase. They went out of their way to neuter TK monk too. What does that tell you about the developers?

Im not a white knight with all means but i need now to be honest, people expect improved encounter design while still 95% of the playerbase is to dumb for easy stack/spread mechs in a raw? i guarantee you the left right left right chariot donut thing will 100% wipe half of the party everytime, cant improve anything if people refuse to improve first.

The playerbase is not too dumb for it, and in my opinion this is actually a misdiagnosis of the problem. If the devs actually had a bit more self-respect for their game and a bit more respect for the players then I would argue you'd actually see players improve.. We have a better playerbase than we did in HW, yet the devs are insistent that we absolutely cannot go back to that level because it would be 'too much'.

The problem is that the game spends far far too long early on just not having any self-respect at all, and coddling you through everything with the minimalist of incoming damage, so by the time players get to the point where it does matter, then they have already developed all of those bad habits, like being able to ignore mechanics, or stacking spread markers on each other, and issues like spread is just a matter of coordination rather than being too stupid to execute them.

What do people actually want with encounter design? Everyone complains that the only mechanic is "walk to correct spot(s)," and I'm not about to pretend that that's not wearing thin, but back when they tried to do slightly more unique/active things, everyone whined incessantly about uptime and parses. You can't have interesting/active mechanics, tight DPS checks, and full uptime, so what's the solution people are actually looking for?

No the playerbase is too dumb for it, and im not talking exclusive about casuals which refuses to raid i talk even about raider, take as example P10 do you know how many wipes i on a weekly base had with p10 with a simple mechanic like watching a cleave a debuff timer and then spread or pairs?

I could understand when there is a casual or new player which starts to learn i wouldnt say anything but even people which are raiding now for many years are too dumb for such easy mechs

so you cant improve anything beyond the typicall ffxiv mech dance when people arent able to multitask, now imagine fully implented rng mechs, or more mechs which needs to let people watch the boss animation or if the boss has a cycle or balls or anything while still playing a spread/pair/cleave mech, this aint working at all
