The Shaking emote is the most annoying thing I've seen in a while. The number of people that just shake endlessly...I had to blacklist a few so I don't have to hear it.

Tossing in my support for this; other persistent emotes with sound effects don't quite have this level of annoyance.
Another game I play will gradually mute sound effects if people spam an emote or if it's a persistent emote playing for a bit. I feel like that's something that could be implemented as a toggle somewhere.

I think they should just remove the sound entirely. It's not necessary and the irritation to others has to far exceed whatever weird pleasure some get out of using this while AFK for hours.
Oh I have, but they're not persistent emotes, that's just jerks spamming something intentionally.
My character has a /stretch that would put the miqo'te moan to shame, but I at least have to be at my keyboard if I want to annoy someone with it.
Jerry rigging is still having to set it up manually to intentionally annoy someone, even macros in-game only last for 15 lines. Whereas /shakedrink just does it by default.
Edit: Spamming emotes is also grounds for reports of spam, /shakedrink would be harder to prove that you're intentionally annoying someone with it.

Setting up your keyboard to spam "1" every second is no effort for someone who uses these tools anyway. My point is, if people want to annoy you, they will find a way.

That's not an argument for why the game should put in easily-used looping emotes that they know or should know people would use to annoy others.
I'm aware, my point is that the game itself hasn't set those up as persistent annoyances, the annoyance is from the user wanting to be a nuisance rather than the way the emotes themselves were designed. People who spam those (and automate the spam) are technically reportable, while someone afking with /shakedrink isn't.
Either way the solution I offered would fix both, I do very much hate it when people spam their moans, angry emotes, and whatever loud noises their character can utter.
