Rival Wings Roulette

Hi All,

I did a quick search on the forums and couldn't find a thread that raises this - surely this has been talked about before!

RW is basically on life support (or completely dead) between mogtome events. And then during mogtome the pops are inconsistent. Speaking for myself - I have to relearn what RW is about every time mogtome comes about and how to play it, as it's just so rare that you can actually play it. Game quality is probably bad as a result of the rarity of pops (can't even remember what the game quality is like...)

Why isn't it just one of the maps in the Frontline roulette rotation or it's own category? Why do I have to rely on discord communities to organise games outside of mogtome? Seems so weird.

7.2, the "actual PVP patch", will be the final straw. Still three Frontline maps, one Rival Wings map, and no roulette for CC or RW.

I just find it mindboggling that there is a clear content draught, yet the devs are sitting on pvp content (rival wings) that could be integrated into roulette which desperately needed a new map for awhile (fl roulette). It will make pvp community happy, it will make achievement grinders happy, it will maybe make rouletters happy (because now there is something new to play that actually pops). The only loss I can see would be those who hate RW, but love FL and couldn't take even a day of it. That's... not many people.

upvoted. It can definitely use a roulette. I find rw not as fun as cc, but more fun than frontline

Something was mentioned elsewhere on forum or revival discord, and i wanted to repeat it here - is exposure of roulette players to pvp.

If currently a typical player would (maybe) queue one frontline game a day. Let's say it's an average 15 min game. That's 15 min of pvp experience.
If there was RW roulette, it could effectively double the amount of time an average roulette player spends pvping.

Theoretically they would get better at pvp quicker with more exposure to it via roulette, which would benefit other PVP game modes like FL and CC.

You're probably right about the game quality being low because of the rarity of matches. It feels like every match I'm in one team is stacked with people who know the game mode like the back of their hand and dominate while the opposing team seem lost and confused.
Losses feel crushing and victories feel hollow.

Does RW include a lot of premades? Given it's kept on life support by Discord I assume it does. Not an argument for or against premades, just noting they tend to produce one-sided matches. And if you drag in a bunch of people who don't want to be there via roulettes it'll only get worse.

You don't know for a fact, Mawlzy, you are just being pessimistic.

Regarding roulette - they could bring Astralagos back. Surely they had enough time to cook a new map in .... 6 years?
