That only feels like an issue to me when people that are used to being able to ignore mechanics get killed over and over again. I've effectively had to 8-man the last boss of Puppet's Bunker a lot.I will be honest, there are times CT feels more engaging than Nier raids, Nier raids have this issue where the enemy HP bars just feel too big, and there are several portions of those raids where the boss just stands there doing nothing besides autos for way too long at time while their HP bars whittles down at such a glacial pace I can feel it on my skin, I sincerely feel those raids would become significantly faster, more fun, and even harder, if you slashed their HP bars by like 25-40%, and increased their mechanics frequency by a proportional amount.
Being able to veto raids or leave them without penalty defeats the purpose of said roulettes to begin with.
They did some steps in the right direction when they placed the ilvl restrictions to stop people from cheesing but there is still more steps that need to be taken to improve the AR roulette experience, like making CT raids optional again (the ShB cutscenes CAN accomodate for people who didn't play through those raids) and to ensure people unlocks all ARs available to their highest level job by locking the Roulette behind completion requirements after hitting each milestone (needing to unlock Ivalice at level 70, Nier at 50 and so on).
Even so, the roulette will remain slightly skewed towards CT raid because they're the earliest AR everyone can access to and, thus, the most accessible by level (50+) but it would less noticeable than now.
Why not just get rid of the penalty altogether. I've been tanking since 2018 and it's rare but I get the odd group where It's just ridiculous pulling and stupidity. You shouldn't be penalized for leaving a horrible group.
Rework CT raids, and make it actually fun imho. Make Cloud of Darkness an easier version of the chaotic version.
Will never happen, It's the only way they can incentivize people to carry new players through ARR.
Square Enix refuses to retire CT and make it into a skippable cutscene, CT and Stormblood are two reasons why i'll never make a new character.
Styr Aegis is my final character, I have a habit over the years of making a new character for every expansion . . Never again. It was bad enough having to restart on PC when i couldn't figure out how to fuse my playstation account & steam account.
So now i just use my playstation one as a storage when i don't got any more inventory or i want to jumpstart a new character.
Split CT raids into a separate roulette. People would still run it for the extra exp and tomes, but people fed up with it would be able to skip it and run only the non ct roulette.
Or they could rework them to turn them into dungeons and move them to msq roulette but that requires work, so not gonna happen.
CT are the only alliance raids everyone has to do. Of course you're going to see them most often. Kind of funny because people said they would be happy if SE adjusted the ilevel cheesing thing, and they adjusted that, and now you're asking for this. Just don't do them if you can't roll with what you get.
I know that mmo players have an obsessive adoration of rng for some reason, but "will the raid be any fun or not?" shouldn't be gated behind a rng.CT are the only alliance raids everyone has to do. I despise the Nier raids. I stay in them because I signed up for a roulette and I don't get to choose what it gives me. That's how random matching works. If we don't like what we're given, we can leave but we will get a penalty because the system is counting us filling the spots that are needed. Not bailing on them just because it wasn't what we wanted.
Except nier raids don't come up 90% of the time like the CT raids do. Yes, that's how the system work, good job captain obvious. The whole point of the thread is that the system is bad and needs to be changed because of the over representation of the CT raids.I despise the Nier raids. I stay in them because I signed up for a roulette and I don't get to choose what it gives me. That's how random matching works. In decades of using the internet I never understood why when people criticize the way something work, there are always obtuse people replying with "that's how it works".
