Yoshi for sure, you can tell he has actually played the type of game he is developing
...how?
How?!
They're the exact same thing with slightly different enemies in slightly different locations. Maybe throw in a few nodes here and there to spice it up!
How is it possible that you don't find them THAT repetitive? They are by definition to be repeated. And with such little variety in their design too. Having it as the core concept of the game was a total blunder and whomever thought that was a good plan seriously needs to reconsider what is acceptable game mechanics for a high commitment game.
Sorry. I just got off from watching something disappointing and I'm venting.
i would agree with you, unfortunately we cant go back in time to see if Tanaka had what it took to steer this ship back on coarse. i just would like to think that given time Tanaka would have given us more content than Yoshi ever could. hell Yoshi spent more resources and time removing what Tanaka had accomplished, when instead he could have expanded on the New concepts created by Tanaka. 2.0 Is Yoshi FFXIV why take Tanaka version and neuter it...why spend all that time cutting replacing when you know its just a waist of time?If it wasn't for Yoshi-P we wouldn't be playing an awesome game right now ( at least to me anyways) and its at least playable... When it was Tanaka.. we could barely play the game at all.. He had like 5-6 years to work on this MMO.. and to say it was "rushed" is out of the question.. He had all the time in the world to make this MMO, and he blew it horribly. Now its Yoshi-P's Turn to make things happen. ( In which he is).
Of course not everyone is going to like it.. but that's life right?
Jealousy, rivalry, who the hell knows.
ofcourse, its all just speculation.
If tanaka was in charge.. i wouldn't be playing FFXIV....
Yoshi-P all the way. Tanaka is too arrogant for my taste...
Tanaka is out of touch. Yoshi P gets it... and thank goodness for that.
Because all that he "really" had planned was "Hamlet Defense" but thats not really enough content to shake a stick in a 6 month duration.i would agree with you, unfortunately we cant go back in time to see if Tanaka had what it took to steer this ship back on coarse. i just would like to think that given time Tanaka would have given us more content than Yoshi ever could. hell Yoshi spent more resources and time removing what Tanaka had accomplished, when instead he could have expanded on the New concepts created by Tanaka. 2.0 Is Yoshi FFXIV why take Tanaka version and neuter it...why spend all that time cutting replacing when you know its just a waist of time?

Regardless, He had so much time to get this MMO the right way before Launching it.. and he blew it.. in a 5-6 yr span the only Content in the game was Leves? I feel like he was lazing around and then did something on the last year.... That's the vibe I got when I first played the game and saw nothing but leve this leve that.. Sp per attack in which you could got 0 exp even if you hit the mob 100000 times >.>.
If Yoshi-P didn't come would their even be a forums? Without the Forums.. would we have this today? would we even have a FFXIV even? If it wasn't for Yoish-P we would be sinking underwater in its first FF name to Fail entirely!
THANK YOU YOSHI-P for turning this game around!
In the O.P., it says that neither Yoshi nor Tanaka are the full package. And that's true, I feel. And if you look at the art direction changes and the heavily instanced gameworld we are to expect on version 2.0, I think it's pretty rich to say "if we didn't have Yoshi, we wouldn't have an awesome game now" because if you didn't have Tanaka, you wouldn't have an awesome game now either. If Yoshi created this game from scratch, and left to his own devices, how do you know Yoshi wouldn't have given you Final World of Warcraft online with hideous vibrant primary colours everywhere? Yoshi's idea of an MMO is an instanced themepark. And that's straight from the horse's mouth, too.
So the fact is, under Tanaka's leadership, the development team failed to deliver a lag-free experience, and there wasn't enough content either, but if you think that was intentional and part of the design, then there's no helping you.
Where this concerns Yoshi, heavily instanced gameworlds is part of the design for 2.0, and that's a mistake. Along with many other things in his track-record.
Yep yep, I also think wada is behind this, he just wants to get as many subs as possible to try and get back what they lost. This is the best way to do it.
