They always do this in the .18 patch. Which is probably the next patch. We don't usually get a x.x8 patch until x.58. I think 7.15 was supposed to be the last patch this cycle, until the hotfix to fix the untranslated text. It should have been turned off in 7.15. In Ew, IIRC it was turned off in the same patch that added the additional role quests.
Should've done it with the 7.16 so there was something other than just a single quest added to it (that had a botched translation to boot) and the usual PvP balance changes.
No freaking reason to wait even longer for 7.18 for this. I agree with the others even though I don't touch savage. These increased patch times should mean savage unlock should be accelerated.

Don't need to read much of OP's post to hard agree. Players shouldn't have to wait this long for something like this.
It would be nice, but yes it is clear that we are getting less for a longer period of time.

Considering a seasoned raid group can bang out much of this content in a night once it is on farm status... and people are guaranteed a token drop to pick whatever they want if they don't win the loot they seek - oh, and you don't have to farm spawn items. There's no exp loss. There's no food loss. You can run this content whenever you group wants to. There's no dungeon crawl to get there.
It is all reward, no risk. And the time investment is small after it is on farm status. It is fine the way it is. The balance is already there.
How about they remove the lockout, but make it that when you die, you lose a level and can't run any raid content again for a week?
The balance isn't there.. There is literally a healthy medium between allow week-1 uncapped loot and waiting 7 months for it. Shouldn't be a lockout for as long as there is.Considering a seasoned raid group can bang out much of this content in a night once it is on farm status... and people are guaranteed a token drop to pick whatever they want if they don't win the loot they seek - oh, and you don't have to farm spawn items. Don't know why you're coming in here with the "How about remove lockout, and make it so you lose a level, and forfeit loot for a week" vibe. That isn't a balance, that's you going nuclear with an inane idea for no apparent reason.
