Translating Japanese is not easy. Even if you know the meaning of the word, you need to know the context of what they're saying, not just in the spoken word but in social and cultural expectations of what that word might mean. Imagine trying to translate the F word into other languages, when it can be used as any and every part of a sentence with either positive or negative connotations.

Which is a big problem with these liveletters. When ever they go away from what's written on the slides we have first to rely on translators for it, and then hope that they get the correct intention.

I'm puzzled as to why he just blurts out this piece of info and not have it on the slide, and if they're still considering it, just don't say anything and wait till there's a clear plan for it.

This is absolutely true. If they don't want inconsistencies in what they are saying, they need to provide their own official translations, otherwise it's hard not to give rise to the argument "they only care about JP players". Having to rely on the goodwill of fans to get official information on an international game is ridiculous.

But hey, it's only been 2 and half years before they even acknowledged something that they promised to do when they made the system. Why not make it an even 3 before they commit to doing it (or yoship arbitrarily deciding that he doesn't want to)

Eventually they’ll put out a digest… those are usually very carefully translated so that their intent is clear. We had the same problem last patch with multiple translations about their housing comments, that later got clarified in the digest.

Two and a half? Friend, that live letter was in 2021, right before Endwalker's release. It was during the Launch PLL where they announced the release delay that they stated this would be a thing. It is much longer than two and a half now.
