But if every character without exception can also wave goodbye with the female Au Ra animation, do air quotes with female Hyur animation and dance like male Highlander, then there isn't any uniqueness anymore.

But that's the player choice on what they decide their character animation will be. Sure, by pure volume, I'm sure there will be a lot that end up making the same decisions. But its still allows for some uniqueness/differences from my Miqo to yours.
