The implication here is that I'm not allowed to use any software or website unless it was developed by Square Enix. I hope I don't have to explain to you how ridiculous this is.

My mouse, keyboard, monitors, speakers, and microphone weren't made by Square Enix either. Do I need to throw those in the trash too?

It isn't disingenuous at all. If it doesn't interact directly with the game, it isn't a third-party tool. FFLogs isn't a third-party tool.

Act interacts with FFlogs. Crap runs downhill not being a 3rd party tool won't save fflogs from catching crap. As for 3rd party programs or tools SE only cares about how they interact with the game.

FFLogs is a website that allows you to upload log files. You can use FFLogs without uploading logs, or you could download a log that someone else has sent you and you could upload that file, without violating ToS.

In a world without ACT-interacting-with-FFXIV, FF Logs decreases in usefulness to the point of might-as-well-not-existing. FF Logs owes its existence to ACT.

I know how fflogs works does not free from its role in this, it should opt-in not opt-out. And devs are not policing the site other then nailing idiots who talk about logs with people who don't want to hear it.
