The draw is precicely that you can turn your timeline into what you like to see. You don't care about politics? You will not be bothered by it. Unlike twitter there is no algorithm harassing you with content you don't care about.

Bsky also has nice filter options that help you keep track of people you follow. Overall it's also a less toxic environment, my experience there has been better than on twitter.

WAY less bots, no ads should probably also be noted.

SE are very unlikely to set up a social media presence on a platform with no ads, since they buy ad space

The userbase also overlaps pretty hard with other platforms they already have a presence on, making the investment redundant

And considering how low the adoption rate for bsky is in japan rn, especially since the majority who bothered to switch after last year's block fiasco either moved back to twitter or went to mastodon/misskey instead, there's just no real reason for them to create an account there
