I'm not a regular of the forums, but you who defend the shortcomings of SQenix have to agree on that FFXIV feels older than World of Warcraft although the game since ARR is several years younger.

While particularly WoW and GW2 have innovated on their games over time, yes even GW2 which recieves next to no funding, FFXIV is stuck in ARR world design with a open world that has nothing going for it outside of MSQ, combat gameplay that plays like a mix between Vanilla WoW and Guild Wars 1 - slow and non-snappy.

While I love FFXIV it would benefit greatly from a complete upgrade from combat systems to character creator open world etc etc which again, it's competitors and again; even GW2 manages to do although GW2 is semi maintenance mode nowadays.

Why can GW2, a game with next to no funding continue to innovate while SQENIX; a billion dollar company can't?
