A hope is that bright light burning within each and everyone of us!
Shared housing between multiple characters on an account isn't a new concept, but it is very desirable since we have the 1 plot per account per world limit in place. Having a shared account storage is also a good idea which other MMOs have already in place (i.e. Lord of the Rings Online, Star Wars the Old Republic, Star Trek Online to name a few examples). The only drawback is SE doesn't seem to know how to link characters on an account together without creating openings for harmful exploits and it doesn't seem they have the staffing or talent needed to solve this particular issue anytime soon... if ever. Considering they haven't done much to update XI to improve compatibility with current generation PCs, it's likely that many issues in XIV won't be solved until they put out the next MMO (assuming there will be one eventually).

There is no merit for allowing plot to be share between characters of same account for several reasons:Shared housing between multiple characters on an account isn't a new concept, but it is very desirable since we have the 1 plot per account per world limit in place. First of all is game is not design with alt character as job system offers one character to access multiple job
This is an option and number of players play with alts do not have significant presence, in another word, minority.
Sharing plot between characters of same player also do not reduce stress of housing demand compares to plot sharing between 3 characters from 3 owners.
Another critical issue is RMT, housing system already has multiple holes for RMTer to explores.
I have a few alternative characters myself, given the evere increasing length of the msq it becomes increasing difficult to level up subsequent character. I enjoy the story but after the first time it gets pretty tiresome. So I get why people wouldn't want to do the entire msq 3-4 times over. There is no merit for allowing plot to be share between characters of same account for several reasons:

I don't think it's about the stress, but if I can edit my house on my apt character (on the service account) it would make it less bothersome (personally I want my apt to be shared so I can decorate my alts room myself.
What rmt is there when it's shared under a service account, and another house on the same service account under a different character cannot be purchased?

Let me ask you again, what is the point?I have a few alternative characters myself, given the evere increasing length of the msq it becomes increasing difficult to level up subsequent character. Originally, i thought the same thing, it would be nice for my personal house to share with my alts too
Yes, I do have alts, in matter of fact, quite few of them because I loved to decorate and role playing.
SE already gave you option if you choose path of multiple alts, too
Convert your personal house into FC plot and put all your alts in there.
The main character that may requires a FC, can be a tenant to your friend's personal house
It is not perfect, but it works isnt it?
I own both. I can let my alt edit the fc house. But I can't give them access to my private. However players that are not on the service count can get access to edit my private, But I as the owner can't share that ability with my own characters?Let me ask you again, what is the point?

Aside from my alts being able to use both my personal mansions, I want them to have their own rooms too, pretty much make personal homes have rooms like a FC does, I would even consider demolishing my solo FC and join my friends FC that is active and freeing up a FC plot in Exodus and Seraph. Also include the workshop too, it would make all plots behave the same whether it's personal or a FC with your alts have their own rooms. So it should be easy to turn all plots to behave like a FC and include a chest your alts can use that acts like a FC chest that can only be put inside your own personal home or apartment or FC room to avoid issues that the glam dresser has if put into housing shared by others (FC). Also allow your alts to share your binded items and gear since it is your service account only too.
+1 to personals having the option to have additional rooms and a storage chest similar to an FC chest! I’ve wanted that for a long time, because I’d love to be able to have more rooms to decorate! If it also comes with the ability to share tradeable stuff with alts and let them have their own rooms in your house, even better!Aside from my alts being able to use both my personal mansions, I want them to have their own rooms too, pretty much make personal homes have rooms like a FC does, I would even consider demolishing my solo FC and join my friends FC that is active and freeing up a FC plot in Exodus and Seraph.
