That topic and the replies are hilarious

I agree..I didn't do it but how can I q as a tank without a job stone for alliance roulette? What if said person does it amd gets something high level lol seen it so much and they act clueless when asked about why they have no stone

It kind of put a laugh on my face. When I once saw a conjurer whom only had capped their classes but never unlocked any jobs past.

As a dev from the outside looking in, it's probably not worth the effort. Like CNJ/WHM and others are tied together for a variety of reasons in the game. They also built this trust system on-top to simulate players like conjurer and gladiator trusts, and you have trust story NPCs that are classes, or a sub-class of one. It just doesn't seem like a good use of time after all these years to say no job = no dungeon, and then have to write exceptions for all kinds of scenarios you may have to visit years later.
From jobs-only at 3.0+, broke the cross-class system in 4.0, then made role actions instead. Basically they did things to put dirt on-top to make it not as common or viable in the past, like when no echo, classes only savage A12S was cleared for fun.

It's already enabled in PvP. It wouldn't take much to have it dropped into PvE. You have to be on a job to participate in PvP, so having it be a toggle or a fully premade party to be able to run without shouldn't be that irritating. I think meme runs are fun, but only when I'm joining a PF to go as a THM instead of a BLM, not having it be dropped on me by a full party of only classes in Tower At Paradigm's Breach (which is unpleasant). As a dev from the outside looking in, it's probably not worth the effort. I believe there was discussion in the beginning of this expansion about removing the sub classes so that we can get rid of job stones entirely.

You queue for your daily roulette trial.
You get Interphos (Sphene)
Everyone is waiting for the one new player to get out of cutscene.
That new player is one of the two tanks, a level 100 gladiator.
No, they don't have a job stone.

That'd be nice, but I have to wonder how they'd make that work for the class quests, not to mention the one quest that is actually reliant on you not having your job stone on for a mount (the CNJ quest to get the unicorn mount).
Actual horror story there lol, and I could almost hear the Shia LaBeouf music behind it. It really would cut down on mistakenly forgetting to drop your job stone on as well when you hit your BIS button (if you do that) because I feel bad for those players when they realize "Oh s[kupo]t I don't have my job stone on" and get into a high level duty.
