Not such a fan of the job-based novelties because as people play the game and naturally level up their jobs, the requirements for having certain jobs unlocked and levelled vanishes, making the novelty imperceptible.
Thanks for sharing, I don't think I agree with the job assessment, especially as some of these things would be in content where you can't change jobs (and while you are / are not you would have larger feature set differences). But hey, that's cool- why do we always need to agree lol. I like that you clarified to the extent that would be satisfying, I can get behind time modifiers that aren't like "man my race sucks, all the good stuff is on miqote, they never pay for their food at the bar and get free rides!!! Meanwhile all I get is casual racism!" Lol. I don't think they need to be equal, but I would be worried if one race had some cool passive like "aether attuned heritage: free teleports" and another race was like "smells like a chocobo: +2% enmity in combat".

I'm a fan of the slight time modifiers especially as it can give texture to the responses, as currently they all do the same thing- but now if they had differences in choices like BG3 (race, class) or Cyberpunk (streetkid, corpo, nomad)- you might actually care about what is being said lol. Can save myself an hour, or cost myself an addition 30 minutes. Enough that if you mess up you won't cry you can't save scum, enough that you will likely learn who you're talking to and appreciate or... Feel lore based dislike for an NPC due to their treatment of you. Like a certain lala using Au Ra as cheap labor.

Many have observed how underutilized the open world is. Maybe environmental effects or zone-specific quirks might be a step in the right direction?
I wish everything that didn't have wings / an actual mechanism to fly would get a "It's a behemoth, it can't fly, you dummy". I honestly think adding flying mounts to this game ruined any sense of an open world, BUT buuuuut, a big BUT. Its not like there IS anything to do at the moment in the open world, so until they make the open world matter even a bit, the flying mounts are staying.

Though luckily we are getting the new exploratory zone in what.. 6 months, 10 months? (wooo...) so we dont have to fly there and actually get to interact with the open world.

They have a system to prevent players from flying in certain parts of the map, like near the ship in Labyrinthos or around the jump tower in Costa Del Sol during the summer events. I wish they actually made better use of that.

I just have missed that you were referring to instances where players can't change jobs. In that case my objection is moot, it's a fine and fun idea so long as it's not in a circumstance where we need to worry about job balance like a raid. Maybe something like for the summer jumping puzzle, if you're a ninja or dragoon you can shukushi or spineshatter dive to get to certain ledges.

I always like it when racial/job distinctions come up in a conversation during a quest, to even if it's a throwaway comment it's a small but nice touch. So I'd also be happy if side quests went a little further in the ways you suggest. It could be "bring me 7 wolf pelts" instead of 3, or it could be "I'll give you the information you want... if you let me touch your ears" for a Viera player, letting them bypass the errand entirely.

    A Hrothgar-exclusive bathhouse.
LESS race locked things, thankyou. im already annoyed the gear is race and gender locked. in 2025 its ridiculous were still locking stuff behind race

I don't know about most of the races, but the Hrothgar/Viera could have something a bit more like the dwarven town or the Steppe that seems more "beast tribe"-y (even the Miqote tribes could use a bit of a revamp to seem more unique) so there's a bit of a cultural reason for things. And as a revenge type thing, make the chairs and such just too tall for Lalas to sit in.
