But why? People aren't suggesting instance housing because they don't want to be in a ward, they're suggesting instance housing because they cannot get a house because they current system is awful. There needs to be a friends who's limited instance housing. So that way whoever wants to decorate and invite their friends over can, However your house will not be able to be used as a venue. Or freely accessible like the ward houses.
If it's off the demolition timer then it needs trade off.
You want the visibility/venue but don't have a plot? buy a apt
You want housing but want to take breaks frequently? Apts/instanced plot
You want something bigger/visible/venue and are willing to stay subbed for extended periods? Try for a ward plot.
You don't care about the visibility/venue , but just want something to decorate? Instanced housing that's friends list limited

A hope is that bright light burning within each and everyone of us!
Are they, or are they not locked out of housing entirely?
Is there any detriment to not owning a plot, over an apartment?
(anything that wouldn't be applicable from a small to a medium or a medium to a large)
I myself have 2 homes (Cottages) and 5 Apt sized spaces, (wanting a 6th room) to me its not about the size of the space, but how do you make the most of it.
Besides what makes the housing system so bad? That plots are finite? And what else? (Not enough outdoor slots?)
You have to bid in a now completely fair system that accounts for players with less spare time to play
housing mirage is going to allow everyone to have a mansion regardless of what size plot they are housed on
Arnt they looking to increase the item count for all housing sizes?

That's cool that you did that, but it doesn't change the fact that apartments are small and have no outdoor space. Are they, or are they not locked out of housing entirely?

Some populated servers don't even have apartments available anymore since they're never demolished so they only open up if someone is forced to relinquish it to move servers or if they add new wards.
Yes, because it's finite. Almost anything else you want in this game you can get with time and effort. If you want a house, you gotta roll the dice against tons of other people or to move to a low population server.
Bosses don't stop dropping equipment because other people already have it. Societal quests don't stop giving out rewards because enough people have completed it. Why is housing limited like this? The only other place this applies is old PvP rewards, but that's another issue in itself.
Irrelevant. The method of obtaining a house doesn't matter if there's not enough available in the first place.
Irrelevant to the problem. I'm happy that I'll be able to increase the interior size of my house and put in more furniture, but that doesn't make it any easier for others to obtain a house.

You can't use outdoor decor with apartments.
You can't customize the interior style of apartments.
You can't use apartments as an FC base. (And thus cannot interact with any system applicable to that.)
The smallest house is still larger than an apartment.
As far as I am aware, the future 'housing mirage' feature will not be available for apartments.

It would be nice if apartments had a terrance where players could have a shared planting space like at the top of the apt.You can't use outdoor decor with apartments.

I have no doubt in my mind that it's going to be an eventuality.
Yea you can, I used my own apt as a fc hangout while I wanted for a plot to open. Also you're naming fc exclusive features in a private housing setting. Pvt plots couldn't be used as a base either.
Now, naming all of that.Is it detrimental to gameplay and not have these things?

I have been for years now. I would much rather have my own little instance than be in a ward. But I have also had issues with neighbors over the years due to having a large house which some ppl, even some FCs, feel entitled to use for their own rp purposes, meaning I have to remove outside furniture and lock it down and let no one in anyway. GMs wouldn't even do anything about it, even when I caught them erping. So yeah, give me a instanced house to myself and my large can go to a venue for all I care.
That's really bizarre and unfortunate you have to deal with those kind of things. I fortunately have good neighbors and they have their homes nicely decorated at both of my larges in Seraph and Exodus. I also don't mind people gposing at my homes and gardens because that's one major reason I love decorating them in the first place. My homes are unlocked and I love seeing people gposing in them and thankfully, no erp yet unlike my first cottage in my onsen in my yard xD. But I really do hope they add instance housing or at least offer you to be able to upgrade the size of your apartments. Venues would also like the Island Sanctuary because you can decorate the courtyards with a 90 slot limit. I also wouldn't be against the plots being more expensive if it means it's permanent without fear of auto demolishing. That would suck if they had auto demolition on instance housing to keep people subbed and I hope they don't.I have been for years now. You quoted half my sentence and ignored the rest, thus taking what I said completely out of context. I'm sorry that happened to you, but that has nothing to do with the OP suggesting island housing because it's nearly impossible to win a plot.I have been for years now.
