The open world is a joke, unfortunately. Barring hunts that get demolished in <10 seconds, shared fates which require way too much time for way too little rewards, and the enemies there might as well not be there for all the challenge they provide.Don't get me wrong theirs a lot to do, but a lot of that is unappealing/side old content that not everyone is interested in.
I think why people are more vocal about the lack of things to do is the simple fact that theirs 1. no "open area" content similar to bozja currently 2. The jobs themselves play the same so doing a fight on a different job is not unique or interesting.
It's not like the game lacks content... theirs so much content, but a lot of the older content is out dated and not fun, even stuff at 80-90, you can do but in reality theirs no actual reward or reason to do them synched and that older content you lack more then half of your core class abilities.
If there was more experiences such as jobs feeling more different & jobs at older content feeling a lot better even when synched down while also maybe adding some sort of reward for still doing that content, they had a open world ect. People would complain less, but in reality most people watch forever for either a few raids or story content then they're pretty much done until the next patch. Maybe the direction of the game should be set out to making the game more fun, rather then just following the same formular.
nothing to do ?
have you took a pic of your character in every instance/spot ?

Convoluted? It's not any more complicated than the average offline FF.I didn't mind it. Ironically, I'd rather have Eureka 2.0 instead of Bozja 2.0. But my major issue with them is just how overly convaluted and contrived they feel as systems.
It's just too much all at once.
When it comes to relics, I'm fine with doing them as is. Once they are done and you got 50 steps to get it done, it becomes tiresome all for a skin.
Eureka and Bozja are the only pieces of content that make XIV actually feature the kind of character building mechanics that are featured in almost all jRPGs.
I'd argue that in other expansions, they left us with at least something to sink our teeth into while waiting. It's gotten a bit worse though now considering the around 4 months per patch and having patches like 7.1 which is... Just about nothing, only things you do once a week, something you may do once a day to level jobs/get quick tomes (Pelupelu) and something that should be meant for the grind but isn't really. So it feels like you get to the point that you want a break faster then what it was before.Nah. I've been seeing this for years, especially back in Heavensward. What people mean is that the special type of content they like to waste their time on isn't available. So there is "no content". I bet if the exploratory zone that so many say will fix everything launches and there's someone who doesn't like that content that comes here with the same complaint, those people will argue that there is content and it's the person's fault if they don't do it.
Fact is that new content is nice but this game has never had new content constantly churning out. People either just paced themselves, were limited by time they could spend, or took breaks in the past if they consumed it all like a content piranha and couldn't find new goals in the other content that was available that they had not interacted with. The more players limit themselves in a theme park MMO, the less they're going to find that they have to do.
This is coming from someone that literally does all content (except normal fishing, don't like it and never will).
‘Akshually [you] haven’t done that levequest achievement* to get 999,999,999 Gil exclusively from levequests so you’re totally lying about there being no content!’ lol
* it’s the most niche and tedious sounding achievement I could think of lol
According to XIVCollect, this is the apex content that we're all just ignoring because we'd rather complain.

I'm not. I'm half way to apha wolf and right behind ravenous. Already got slayer and sniper and working on stalwart. Think I'm on like 150 or sumfin. Gnb is absolutely wild
Here's my job recommendations if you're having a hard time in CC. Please note these jobs are not suited to frontline
Sam - slayer
Gnb - stalwart
Smn - spellcaster
Whm - sawbones
Dancer - sniper
I think it really depends on the person. I hoped out of Eureka when it was current back in Pagos. Since gone back and finished it, but it was long after Bozja. So for me, when that was the "the content" to do, I had nothing to do. I just went back to my checklist of things that I hadn't tried yet/was still finishing up once the new content was out and I wasn't interested in it. I do think they're coming out with different kinds of new content. That content isn't going to appeal to everyone. I've never touched PvP or Mahjong, for example, but there are people who love that content and have been excited by changes and additions made for those areas.I'd argue that in other expansions, they left us with at least something to sink our teeth into while waiting. It's gotten a bit worse though now considering the around 4 months per patch and having patches like 7.1 which is... Just about nothing, only things you do once a week, something you may do once a day to level jobs/get quick tomes (Pelupelu) and something that should be meant for the grind but isn't really.
