I swear, some of you will argue just to argue. Doesn't matter if it makes sense. The soul gives +5% HP and 2-3% raw stats at low level, less than 1% at 100.
"everything matters", but 5 points of item level give you more.
To make this clear, as a conjurer I can heal through every not-high-endgame content (cure II and medica I-II are enough).
What makes the difference is the equipment, the use of materia and food.
I swear, you argue just for the post counter.
The OP blamed the soul crystal for some heavy handicap, and for that handicap he was not able to do his job properly.
To be crystalline clear: NO, that kind of problem is a matter of equipment, his equip or the tank.
BTW Yoshida already has already spoken about the idea of standardizing jobs making them work like the expansion ones, but it's more of a cleanliness thing than a necessity because "people forget to do ARR job quests".
As the fox from kung fu panda 4 says: fight for the right things for the wrong reasons.

Bro's really out here quoting Kung Fu Panda in defence of griefing.I swear, you argue just for the post counter.

You're missing half your kit. Put your job stone on. It really ain't that deep.
bro really don't know how abilities are given.
Open you abilities tab, look the level of abilities and tell us what you got and miss at <50 because we are talking about an ARR dungeon.
it's not that deep.
After all the jobs in HW - SB - ShB - EW - DT ? I find -difficult- to implement new jobs in that way. It' simpler if SE get rid of the SC and add 7 job quests for the SCH.
I don't think the average player wants to level a class he does not care from 1 because they added an interesting job.
I'm not even sure I will play the limited job for that reason, does it start from level 1 right?

Are we talking about ARR dungeons? I've seen people in level 90+ content without job stones.
They really need to just prevent classes from queuing into anything above level 30. There's no reason not to have job stones be mandatory beyond 30.
Yes we are. We are because the OP is talking about Stone Vigil and DD.
edit. making every job quest until ... 70 (if I remember correctly) mandatory is a pain.
It's much simpler to remove the soul crystals from the game and give the abilities automatically.

The problem exists outside of the scope of ARR content so I don't think the conversation should be limited to ARR content. The only benefit to restricting the conversation to ARR content is that it makes it easier for you to downplay the issue.
They need to either uncouple the Hw abilities from job quests or make those mandatory as well as the job stone IMO. I don't really care if people don't do their job quests but they should absolutely make sure they're up to date in terms of having the abilities that they are supposed to have.
