Chaotic Alliance Raid: More Content for Professional Gamers

I think it's funny that people are still calling this Chaotic fight "midcore." People are spending longer progging this single ten-minute fight than many casual players have to play for the entirety of a two-week period. That's hardcore, full stop.

I can't believe how normalized we've made putting in eight- to ten-plus-hour days of games like that's perfectly healthy and not something that should only be done once in a great while.

Note that I'm neither calling the existence of hardcore content good nor bad. Just saying perspectives are super skewed.

Everyone likes to say how long the gaps between patches are, right? So it is once in a great while.

Spent 5 hours sitting in party finder today and got maybe 20 pulls out of it.

If a fight lasts 10 minutes, the maths says you're only getting 6 pulls per hour. So it is true that you will either spend those hours wiping to the same stuff while you get used to it, or you're there for business to make progress, depending on your comfort level with the fight.

Just got to make sure the rest of the alliance is in the same boat (or has already cleared). That's an issue even with extreme trials. Sometimes you will get a party that is completely hopeless even in the easiest extreme trials (Barb was a good example because it was very easy), while other times a party would just destroy it in one pull (also happened with Barb sometimes). You just have to try different parties each day until one is decent.

If you're not a streamer or already part of a big raiding clique you're just straight up not clearing this in a reasonable amount of time.

If it remains that big of an issue I'm sure discords will pop up for it like with BA and DRS. And those discords are literally there to help you, put good players in important roles (like tanking) and provide guides and callouts that make it simple. They are not a clique.

That's fair. That has always been a problem with raiding in MMORPGs. It works for some people and not for others.

This is a valid mentality, but is deeply profoundly different from the mentality of others. As such it is WHOLLY incompatible with many players.

The clear means nothing to me.
The title nothing.
The achievement nothing.
Unless I like the mount aesthetically, nothing. Same for gear. Same for hairstyle.
Minions mean a little. Not much

I want the challenging experience.
I have no I interest in being brain-deaded over the finish line. Not satnaved to the local Starbucks.
Tank. I want to tank. "Helper" gonna have take what's left.
Discord? That's fine. Be on standly. You choose the minute of the hour. I'll choose the hour and the day. I'm fair though, I can probably give you about 10/15 minutes notice when I decide I'm going to do it.

that is nice that they would setup such runs for new people... however 1 big problem is possed with this
the reward system will penalise you for doing this
nearly no materia, no rewards... if lucky a chest might drop it if you got good RNG
otherwise you might have to sign up to atleast 10 or 15 of these runs to just get the actual rewards
or well 25 times for the bonus mount... i don't think this is a good solution atleast a start i guess

is there already a discord like this atleast? because screw PF, i've already blocked over 50 people who were absolutely out of line
