Housing in this game is terrible. I quit trying.

Get an apartment and stuff all your housing sh...stuff in the storage. It helps a little bit to have it all compartmentalized and when you're ready to make the switch, they don't have a demolish timer on them and you can create a 'test room' if you want for the theme you plan on. Housing has always had issues from day 1. Honestly, we need a storage upgrade as well for all the seasonal items we've collected over the years. How long have you been trying to get a house if I might ask?

I am fairly new to FFXIV, but I can't see housing as being appealing overall unfortunately. Yeah it could be fun, but only getting something temporarily seems a complete waste of time and money.

I know some love it here and having a "fixed place" has value I am sure, but it is definitely different and not compelling to me as a newcomer.

You can get an apartment that is permanent so you can safely take extended breaks if you wanted without fear of losing your home like houses do after 45 days of inactivity normally. For now, the auto demolition is inactive due to the hurricane and flooding the US went through two months ago. You can then try and decorate your apartment and see if you may grow to like having your own player home :3

It's always [you] same people replying to all the housing posts with your "tough shit, your own problem, move to another server, blah blah blah." Without actually addressing the ACTUAL issue everyone brings up with housing.

There's a reason you're all getting ignored. But you know, keep adding to your post counts like we care about the selfishness of this community.

Housing is not temporary. You pay gil one time and that's it. People say that apartments are permanent because houses gets demolished if you don't enter it after 44 days.

Same here. I won't renew my sub when it runs out. Moving is not an option for multiple reasons, and the alt option won't work either. We have 300+ people bidding in every single auction. We've also had extremely low inventory lately due to the auto demo freeze. Meanwhile, we have players who own every house in an entire ward. The frustration is real. Aether needs more wards, plain and simple. Better yet, open more housing. I mean, the Loporrits prepared a home for us & we're not even using it?? What about Solution 9 or near the Crystarium, so many options.

Sounds to me like the real solution is to tell those people to choose one house, and condemn the remaining ones, returning their purchase price, then reselling the condemned houses. That's 59 new houses right there.

Sounds to me like the real solution is to tell those people to choose one house, and condemn the remaining ones, returning their purchase price, then reselling the condemned houses. That's 59 new houses right there.

The same should also apply to all the FC submarine farming shacks and be allowed to only have one personal and FC plot per world.

If they're going to lock down housing demolition they could at least add 3 more wards (there is space on the tabs for that) and shorten the timers it should not be a week to bid and then a week for results 3 days for bid 3 days for result next cycle. and FCs should not be able to multi bid on a mixed ward house it's unfair to individuals.

Furthermore you're not missing anything with housing that you can't do with an apartment or Fc room. If you want to quit then just leave don't make a big deal of it.
but yeah housing is one of the least thought out aspects of 14 atm.

Everything you've worked for and earned? I'm pretty sure transferring servers doesn't reset your account to level 0. You'd have to leave your FC but that's it.
