    I swear, 'increase player retention', coming from someone who didn't even quit when it happened to him and continued to play the game. Hogwash. Argue the merit of the argument itself, not based on some immeasurable idea like "player retention". What if they implemented a change where they didn't even get a 30 minute timeout, and removed any penalty at all, and it turned out that player retention actually got higher? Does that mean you'd be all for it? Are you that invested in Square Enix's stock price that you want them to keep all the players they can, regardless of what boneheaded decisions they make?

    No, making a change to the punishment system because you got butthurt 8 years ago over issues that barely exist today is stupid regardless of whether player retention would go up or down.

    I nearly did. I didn't feel like I could progress through the game anymore, because they were making it impossible to do so.
