Yeah it sucks... they are going to fix it. If you can't wait play something else, go to work, get laid or *gasp* go outside.

"Online gamers are the most ludicrously entitled beings since Caligula made his horse a senator and at least the horse never said anything stupid."
I don't mean to be rude, but can I get a tl;dr recap on the OP? I tried reading it twice but... it's just confusing.
I know SE working hard to make this game work... But, I pay to play FFXIV for entertainment in my free time as does everyone who is currently subscribed. Yes, of course I can play other games when FFXIV is not available, but I shouldn't be paying for a game I don't get to play due to unscheduled maintenances. SE should have worked out the issues with the patch before instating it into the game to avoid this. As far as I know, no other MMO does this to their players.
At least we all got somewhat of a taste of 1.22! Thats something!! That 1st GC Cut scene Felt like part of a Moive!!!! and was Epic!! That's how far I got... sadly lol
Dude we are all paying money you are not the only one. Shit happens man if something small like this ruins it for you so be it.I know SE working hard to make this game work... It's understandable why it happened though, they really wanted to push it for a release before golden week so what we have now is only a fragment of what they wanted to release. Even with that in mind it would appear that the stuff they were "ready" to release still needed some debugging so hopefully whatever issues are occurring can be fixed within 5hrs so that everyone can enjoy the content that they were able to have ready for today. This is just how MMOs happen. For all the games i've played i think i've seen maybe 3 "flawless" patches. Despite the delays your still getting on average more timely bug fixes then you'll see in a single player game. (looking at you Bethesda)
Its disappointing, it always is. Content patches are one of the more exciting things in MMOs, and the most problematic.
The other 3 patches went off without a hitch because they made sure to comb it over and look through everything so errors were minimal but i'd say this is the first patch from those 3 that they pretty much rushed out the door lol.
