VelCat looks gorgeous :3 It's sad to see you leave the Bun gang, but I totally understand it! In fact, I'm having similar thoughts for quite a while now.Soooo, I changed Velesi into a Keeper... I know it might sound like a sudden decision out of nowhere, but I've been thinking about it for days and trying to decide. I used the free fanta we get from the newest patch to try to make a catgirl that would be a definition of a moon cat... and I fell in love! I've been really bothered recently by the lack of hats but that was not the only reason, when I was trying out my Miqo'te I realized how much more she resonates with me than my Viera, especially with all the emotes, I absolutely love Viera's elegance in the way their emotes look but it's pretty much the opposite of me irl, I'm probably something between a Miqo and a Lala xD so overall my new moon cat won over my heart, for now at least!
I never wore hats that often, but as a Miquo I really enjoyed switching between hats and circlets/flowers/ribbons depending on my mood. I love the look of Amarys as a Viera and I would definitely miss her, but I'd also like to wear hats again :/ And that thought is getting louder and louder, I don't think I will be able to ignore it that long anymore...
When that day comes (and my gut feeling says it might be sooner rather than later), I think I'll choose the "boring" race and change to Midlander :3. I just can't go back to Miquo'te, the tail clipping with a lot of glams was too annoying for my taste.
Dawntrail is what I imagine the entire MSQ as a healer-main.
I understand it so much! Both frustration because of the hats and worry about the tail clipping. Also, people can call Midlanders boring as much as they want, but there's something special about playing a normal race in a fantasy game in my opinion! Plus, let's be real, in FFXIV it's the Miqo that are the basic race, hahaVelCat looks gorgeous :3 It's sad to see you leave the Bun gang, but I totally understand it! Thank you! As always you are the sweetest bean in this forum! ♥
And while I will certainly miss the peak cuteness and elegance that was Velbun, Velcat is also very charming! And as always, people should play what makes them happy, it is your character after all! And I feel you on the stalker of this thread part, I've been here since EW, a silent stalker admiring all these amazing buns, even joining the bun army a few times, but none of them stuck like Uki did. So I think I speak for everyone when I say we will always be happy to have you here!
And if you ever feel the need to rejoin the bun bun army! We'll welcome you with open arms and lots of carrots! ♥

Ah, yes the hat problem is something that is seen as a huge deterring factor when choosing either Viera or Hrothgar. I was hoping that they would fix the hat problem as they said they would, but still no word on it (and knowing them, probably will keep it at nothing until 8.0) with that, I can't blame people who don't want to play these races long term.VelCat looks gorgeous :3 It's sad to see you leave the Bun gang, but I totally understand it! While I recognise I am in the minority who actually hates hats on my chars, even when I was a Miquo'te/Au'Ra/Hyur/Roe/Elezen/etc I would not want any type of hat on my character. FFXIV has something unique to a lot of MMORPGs, the emotions transmitted through the face. It helps the story. When something bad happens, your character is sad, confused, angry; or when something good happens you see them laugh, smile, cheer. This makes them more "human" more relatable, and more alive (in a videogame way).
And for that, I purposely choose glams that show it. And with Viera being close to having all the hairstyles they were missing, they feel much better to play now than in ShB and begging of EW. Besides that Viera is just a gorgeous race!
Buuuuuuut with that said, I am all for the inclusion of hats! More customisation is good customisation!

I get your point completely! The reason I haven't been bothered by the lack of hats for so long is because I don't wear them often either. I definitely don't like, for example, those typical plate tank helmets that cover both your head and your face. I do, however, love hats like witch pointy hats for my magic jobs or some winter, cozy hats that I could wear for events during the upcoming season. Or even some silly spriggan hats for costume parties! These are the things I really felt like I was missing out on while playing Viera, which made me really upset, because like I said, I absolutely love that race. I will definitely consider going back to my bunbun when this problem is fixed though, unless by that time I get to attached to my moon kitty. Yes, it is rather disheartening that they do nothing / almost nothing about this. I went Viera fully knowing this and it was okay for me, but after almost 2 years I missed the hats too much.Ah, yes the hat problem is something that is seen as a huge deterring factor when choosing either Viera or Hrothgar. So today I pulled the trigger and took a good long sip from a Fantasia to become a tiny Midlander, Vel already saw Amarys' new self in person :3 Changing was bittersweet and I had to take goodbye pics of her bunself before:
She was so gorgeous and I surely will miss her, but for now I'm enjoying hats again and the princess walk is just adorable ♥

Aw! So cute! While I am more biased toward your bun self, Viera are gorgeous! Your princess is just adorable! I hope you will enjoy your hat freedom and one day when SE will finally fix their sh- I mean their races (seriously, the only 2 races in this game you HAVE to pay for in order to play and they are painfully limited!). I hope your path might lead back to this race one day!Yes, it is rather disheartening that they do nothing / almost nothing about this. For me, I have been every race/gender combo in this game. But out of all of them, I kept coming back to Viera (Having around 8 total different Vieras Females (6) and males (2)). It is just a beautiful race that leaves an impression. I quite disliked it at the beginning, thinking it's just another MMO race that has attractive women in skimpy clothing, then I thought why even include them, we already have humanoids with animal ears. But playing as one, learning of their lore and being forced by a friend to play through FFXII. I started to see them in a different light. I started to have an appreciation for our etheric long-eared beauties, in the end creating Uki and I couldn't be happier!
Here's hope that one day SE will add all customisation to Viera so that they might be brought up to par with the rest of the races and we will see the return of many Viera lovers. And I will be here, enjoying all the cute/beautiful Vieras in this thread!
And of course, it is time to pay up my bun bun tax before my fellow buns complain that I am talking their ears off with nothing to show ;3
This was inspired by a known ex-bun whose glamour I simply adored! just changed the face-wear to a monocle, but otherwise the same!
