That's what makes it special. The whole point of it is as a symbol of bragging rights. The fact that you were persistent enough to beat the odds (or lucky enough) and get the mount. Once it's older, then more people have a chance to get it, and it's less prestigious. Thus, they raise drop rates and add the pity buy.

I get that but the only people who benefit are the ones who actually do their 435 runs to get the drop. The people who stop at 99 totems as suggested have just wasted their time with nothing to show for it. There is no reason to do that on launch.

ok, no one's forcing you. Either keep going to get the mount, or know that you'll get it a couple patches down the line. Like I said, it keeps the mount rare and prestigious.

Thread gives me elegon and anzu farming ptsd flashbacks from wow. I still don't have those it's been decades. I No longer care. The practice of making these mounts so hard to get eventually makes people give up.
