So the devs decided to sink money into a mobile version of the game when 2 races still don't have the hat and hair updates that were promised.

Please remember this is essentially a Chinese company making and running it all... SE just lent the IP and assets for the most part - akin to what was planned with Mobile FFXI originally.

That we pay them to run this game, that they then take that money and Square Enix decides what to fund.

And they have decided to use that money on a Mobile game.

That's just it... SE isn't spending money on this. They are loaning the FFXIV IP to Tencent....Which means Tencent is paying Square Enix to use the IP... Which means the game is making SE money to be spent on things... Like... Potentially paying the dev that can then be put to work fixing the Viera/Hroth hat "issue" that Viera players etc agreed to when they VOTED to get them in the state granted - as in the poll to vote it was mentioned they would have those restrictions [from before even being offered to be added to the game] over the options like the half-race options for more creation options where they COULD implement things.

It should be a simple hotfix, we shouldn't have to wait for a Live Letter to address small fixes. It's things like these that makes me despise japanese companies because of the lack of feedback.

Honestly, we should flood page 1 of General Discussion by bumping all viera/hroth complaint threads. Make them the only thing you see on the forums.

Unless gaming articles and content creators start to cry about it en masse, there will be no change. Get loud and obnoxious.
Gaming companies like SE hate when they've got a bad reputation, give them a bad reputation. It's not like they are deserving of a good one right now.
