You can give orders to squadrons. The reason you can't give orders to Trusts is because you aren't their commander; you are their friend. This was the exact reasoning provided by Yoshi-P in one of his hundreds of interviews over the years.

Everyone wants to paint the housing FOMO as a "tactic" by SE. But that's giving them way too much credit. It's completely due to incompetence in the ability to create a dynamic housing system that actually provides enough houses for everyone. In a way they provide a lot across all the worlds (including low pop worlds), but they don't allow you to travel between housing areas of different physical machines and get a house on them seamlessly, which results in too much demand on the most populated worlds. The result of this is players without a house demand a FOMO system to remove "inactive" house owners so they can get a house themselves.

Of course hes going to give that reason.. he cant be saying "guy reason why you cant control the npcs in Trust is because we dont know how to"

They've done it already because squadrons have commands and in solo battles for the MSQ, all your team have run ahead and done their thing automatically, so it would just be attaching those two things together. They chose not to. Most likely because they see the "button" as you approaching the boss so that the tank can pull it.

If they did this, you could let it go and fight all the bosses while you're AFK which is unattended gameplay. The current method makes it simple to just stop and read lore or appreciate the area as well, without needing to press any buttons.

Yes and no. The squadrons allow you to advise the tank to attack the target (which then will start aoeing anyways like a tank would)-- but not the ability to lead the dungeon in the same way the tanks do in WoW (wow has a "dungeon assistance" mode where the tank will continue the way forward. if youre too far from the tank, they stop until you get within the distance of them before they start running again and continuing the dungeon like a real tank would). It's a terribly flawed system that they refuse to address. With as much funds as this game gives to Squeenix, yoship just cant get those funds to keep the game updated even further than where it's already at (which is still way behind the times).

This is the issue with no competition, there's nothing besides FFXIV or WoW that can compete. So they are resting on their laurels and not INNOVATING because the money just keeps coming in, both games have their fanbases that sometimes move in between the two games. OR stealing and making something better, which is the proper way to do an MMO. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, you just look what works in other games EXAMPLE. Wildstar HAD THE BEST HOUSING system ever, copy that and you don't have to update the housing system again, instanced, you can change item sizes to any size you want, you can place them wherever you want, you had interactive npc's.

I'm gonna say it with my chest. FFXIV NEED TO HIRE WESTERN DEVELOPERS OR MAKE A SIDE STUDIO THAT CAN PROBLEM SOLVE THEIR ISSUES OR INNOVATE.

    Jeeq always has an excuse

But like how FFXI was basically a trove of stolen ideas from Everquest by SE's own admission, FFXIV is basically a host of stolen ideas from WoW, also by SE's own admission, so it's fair that they steal a little back.

They should have kept stealing ideas then. Yoshi-P trying to make FFXIV his own these last few expansions have brought the quality of the game down severely.

I 100% agree, something like Delves would be great in XIV, esp for casual to midcore players. TWW has been a great time, esp compared to DT, from story to events, to just gameplay. I wish they would steal a little bit from FFXI too while they are at it. How amazing would it be to get something like Dynamis, Assault, Campaign or Beseiged? I love how in XI even "trash" mobs have a chance to drop items that you need instead of just being there as filler to make a series of square rooms with boss battles feel more like a raid instead of what it really is, a glorified trial.

Besieged, btw, just got a boost to make it relavent again. It's still pretty quick but they are going to be doing adjustments to it until they find the sweet spot. Something you can actually count on the FFXI team to do but not the FFXIV team. If the FFXIV team did have it, it would forever stay faceroll because it would be abandoned immediately.

We don't need delves though, we need something like bozja or eureka with cool rewards and iirc one is due for DT but Sqenix is actually super silly because they should just include that at release and then add to it during the expansion.

    Small indie studio I guess..

Why not both? It's not like we have so much content we can't keep up lol. Variety is the spice of life.
