After this new dungeon I'm done. Unsubscribed. don't care if my house gets auto demolished anymore. The chubracobra boss was BS and the rocks looked like sperm with the tethers on them. What kind of dungeon was that meant to be?

I love the game. That will be all.

I'm gonna be honest, I think a lot of you would enjoy the game more if you didn't play it constantly. I typically only renew my sub when there's a new patch.

FRU is going to be my first ultimate, so I'm excited about that. I also enjoy PvP and am looking forward to trying out the new job changes.
My reasons for playing the game are simple: I like PvP. I like my WoLs. I like the world and story.
However, with 7.1 my adventure comes to an end.
My interest in the world and story died with Myths of the Realm, and DT's flavorless and uninspired writing of Yok and Xak Tural.
My interest in my WoLs also died with the graphical update. Same as my interest in the environment.
And now, lastly, with 7.1's changes, my interest in PvP dies as well. The sole reason why I bought another month at the behest of my partner despite swearing in another thread I will not do so.
I don't want to derail this thread (it's already bad enough to double post haha) but I just want you to know that reading your reply has left nothing but grief in me. I feel the same way and agree with everything you've said.
Started playing in December 2018/January 2019. Always looked forward to the free login events back when I couldn't afford to keep my subscription up, and afterwards looked forward to every patch release when money wasn't as tight. FFXIV was the game in which I met my partner of 4 years. He gifted me a copy of Eorzea Encyclopaedia vol.1 for Christmas last year and due to our distance I've only now been able to physically hold it and read through it. It's bittersweet, in a way. I was so excited to have it a few months ago and yet now I feel hollow. We used to talk about having our wedding ceremony be FFXIV themed. Plans which are no more.
The game was very special and used to mean the entire world to me. What embers of passion and interest were left after 7.0 were stomped out by 7.1. All it took was 4 months.
If I resub it will be to stop my house being demolished, but after 7.1 I dont know if I will be. I was waiting to see what they did with the character appearance updates, but they barely bothered so why should I? I want my miqo'te back that I did all the MSQ with for years. She's gone though. They didn't care about the feedback. I haven't even felt like doing Dawntrail because of it. I think the game might be dead for me because of this. Sucks. I'm very sad.

DT graphical update both wowed and disappointed - gorgeous foliage but simultaneously replaced my character with RBF rando-Limsa cat girl I don't recognize. This patch didn't fix my character either. It seems if it wasn't a glitch and your character choices weren't the popular ones you just got screwed due to lack of QA. I don't get to play with people much anymore due to RL conflicts - which kills my desire to play MMOs historically. I haven't really been captivated by DT's story thus far...got to 3rd zone and saw what it was doing well before the NPCs noted it, but just don't find it engaging/interesting overall. And then spoilers made it worse (nigh impossible to avoid everything if you don't finish first week). Truly, the only reason I've kept subbed is my house as I've barely played since launch. I put over 200 hours into placard clicking to get it and I refuse to let it go. I started learning how to play on console/controller with a new character, but it's sporadic at best. Been mostly taking a break since DT came out. Hoping to maybe do Unreal...but Byakko makes me motion sick during wind tunnel not sure I can do it on Unreal. So yeah, I guess the risk of demolition (now it's been paused temporarily) and nostalgia for what once was keep me subbed.

There was so much potential. I really enjoyed it and hoped they'd continue to expand upon it... but instead, they dropped it like a rock. That was another huge disappointment along with many others in this last year.
