I'm one of those that got stuck with the house, that and a very faint hope that they course correct in the future. I've been apart of this game since 1.x beta and I've defended / sold this game more than any game I've ever played (and I'm old lol). I can't do it anymore.
I posted this in another thread, but I really have no idea how 1 expansion without post patch killed all of my fun and goodwill towards this game for over 10yrs. I don't understand that. They destroyed my WoL in the story. She didn't act anything like the optimistic yet still realistic determined hero. All of the scions that had become my comrades, my friends, over the course of 10yrs became brainless nobodies that don't even sound like themselves. The craftiness and expertly woven aspects of previous story beats were completely ignored / forgotten to present the obvious on a pedestal newer story elements. It's not just the story, but the jobs are so boring. The dungeons aren't exciting. The bosses didn't hold any weight or tension. I just don't care anymore.
I was holding out to see what Yoshi was going to do. I've seen this man drag this game out of the grave and turn it into something I've happily supported for over 10yrs, then in the past couple months go on the stage of PR bullcrap and absolutely spew the most out of touch comments I've ever seen him say. It's a complete shame. No one is running this game. Not Yoshi, not SE, the devs are so inexperienced and no one is guiding them or correcting them to give us the quality that XIV has produced for over a decade.
I hate the way my character looks. I hate the story. I hate my job and the stupid ugly bahamut they added instead of the summons I've been begging for since summoner has been released and somehow they still can't figure it out yet a game twice its age did it (FFXI). I went from sharing this game with everyone I know, logging in every day even if I had nothing to do just to enjoy my time in it, to not even checking patch notes or being bothered to log in patch day. It's a shame.
To those that are still enjoying it, I'm not trying to burst your bubble. I look for positive posts so I can find some sort of cope or just hope that it isn't as bad as I've experienced so far. I've read how much fun people are having with the new alliance raid, and I really enjoyed the 8 man raid (it's my favorite one so far). I apologize for being so negative, but this is just my personal experience so far.
