7.1 Wuk PTSD

Just did the first quest and the moment she appeared on screen I went Oh no not again.
I doubt square can redeem this character for me at least. Can we please Lyse this character or have them die making a noble sacrifice. Wuk is the sole reason I have ever skipped a cutscene in FF14.

My friend, I absolutely understand your hate.

But IMHO the MSQ this time was decent, nothing as offensibly bad that it would warrant skipping.

She was sidelined to an apropiate degree and the little thing she tried to do at the start didn't work out, so her power-of-empathy was dialed back to "normal".
This time, other characters got their fair amount of screentime and the new dungeon was accessible in a very reasonable timeframe.
And we got a few lore-drops (that should have been in the main-story but alas).

But I totally understand if you still wanna skip, but we need to judge the stuff objectively, and this heated 2min of hate is getting stale, even for an wl-hater like me.

If it makes you feel better, there's only 3 "Speak with Wuk Lamat" quests this patch.

That's a shame. I'm hoping it was just too far into develop to course correct and the next patch will have less Wuk and more WoL.

Just my personal opinion, it'll never get old for me and I was one of those that defended her in the beginning. It is good to hear that she getting pushed to the background and not treated as the golden child. I really hope that's the case. If I see them course correct, I'll give it another shot. However, if they're doubling down, they've lost my support. This has always been an MMO for the fans after the FANS saved it from being deleted. I'll never give this company an inch for the sake of my criticism getting stale (not a shot at you personally, I've seen comments like that try to dismiss the absolutely valid criticism). Still, I'm open to them trying to fix it, but only if they're actually trying to fix it.

There are people who will take any instance of her appearance as reason enough to fire up the grievance train again, just because they love hating her so much and it's an easy way to farm replies on the forums.

Honestly, she's been pretty chill so far. Less generic shonen protag and more legit civil service/ambassador. There has been a noticeable increase in braincells on her part

Though I never thought she was a bad character per se... Just that the writing over all in DT was bad and she was an easy target because they overused her presence especially when comparing her screen time vs actual gameplay screen time.

I've resigned myself to WL being still big part of the story. I'm not naive enough to expect them to change it in 7.1. And while my finger still twiches towards "skip" every time she's on screen, I'm honest enough to admit her presence wasn't too offensive. But the bottom line for me - apart from her being still fairly prominent - is that I don't care about these people. I don't care about those places. For me this is the aftermath of DT (and WL in particular). And at this point I can't imagine any story twist that would made me care. It's one MSQ too late.

i admit it was my ideal to bring Sphene back i just thought she was compare Wuk lamat a better character let see what they do with her

through i thought would better have sphene as child the guide by warrior of light to make more interesting story have the scion focus on wuk lamat and WoL more focus find sphene parts then have quest blend together through find the child version of Sphene can order the military force to stop
