Of course. But they should rethink moving forward who should be the main character. Certainly not the character who is the most unpopular focus in XIV's history - who they keep giving more screentime and involvement than any character to date.
For example, I liked Lyse more than many here - but even she did not hover over us an entire expansion and every single quest in the patches. We simply can't get away from Wuk at all.
Aside from her bad writing, I think this is also why many of us dislike her. "Less is more" would work better for her.

You're welcome to that opinion, but the 7.1-7.3 storyline is already written and well into production. They're not going to go back and tear it all up for some whiny brats on the forum.Of course. Maybe they should; then there'd be something like ten months between patches if not longer, which would be a really funny consequence of all this complaining.
But its no longer a vocal minority. Thats a disingenuous take. A very large percentage of the playerbase based on reviews dislikes Wuk. And you vastly overestimate just how much of the game's future MSQ content is finalized. They probably have core concepts written out, but could easily give even Wuk less lines and less screen time. You're welcome to that opinion, but the 7.1-7.3 storyline is already written and well into production. I mean... they already have given her less of an in-your-face presence in 7.1. Are you expecting her to not be there at all?But its no longer a vocal minority. Thats a disingenuous take. Another person that tries to dismiss constructive feedback with petty insults. You're welcome to that opinion, but the 7.1-7.3 storyline is already written and well into production. They're not going to go back and tear it all up for some whiny brats on the forum.

My guy, I have criticisms of Dawntrail too. I don't like how in-our-faces Wuk Lamat was for 7.0. But I'm also a grown adult who knows that screaming and tantruming on a forum isn't going to make the writers kill a character off between patches.
I don't view it as "screaming and tantruming". But this is the forum for feedback, and how else may I ask are people supposed to express their distaste for a character and direction their story is going in? They should consider themselves lucky to have feedback so they can steer their commercial product towards more success.
bring back Lyse and zero if SQUARE plan to continue forcing us to like wuk lamat they will only generate more hate.
Apologies, but wrong on all counts, even inadvertently acknowledged in this post. Given how the game has been increasingly successful throughout its lifetime, experiencing the usual cycle with post-expansion decline doesn't suggest in any way, shape, or form that it's "not doing well," but rather the opposite, that it's continuing the same usual trend (of every MMO, no less). It's also a significantly smaller decline than EW had, though EW's was partially inflated because the "WoW Exodus" was finishing up around that time, so EW started with a higher count that was never likely to stick around. The decline is essentially exactly the same as ShB saw (which is widely considered the "best" expansion), and with about a 50% higher playerbase in terms of pure numbers now in DT.The game is not doing very well. It is having the usual post
expansion decline. It is a bigger decline than EW had, but they threw off how much by launching a free login campaign recently. And just like with EW, the game is going to see declining revenue quarter after quarter soon. Probably more than EW, by a lot, based on all the damage they did with MSQ and now setting many jobs on fire.
And that's considering they lost players before DT even started.
Also forums are representative of the player population. They absolutely 100% are. The only thing defenders are right about is that the solution is to unsub. People need to mass unsub. If you do not like the story, combat, jobs, all 3, or something else...the devs only wish you'd stay on the forum and pay to scream in the void. If you've been waiting long enough for change and it hasn't happened, simply leave. And yes I am unsubbed.
Put simply, the "damage" you are talking about doesn't really exist in the grand scheme of things. Every single decision a developer makes will naturally please some people and turn off others. That's basic reality. All that's happened here is the particular decisions made for DT are more likely turn off the very specific subset of the playerbase that likes to inhabit places like these forums, reddit, etc.. And no, it is NOT representative of the playerbase at large. There are specific types of people (someone will eventually say the quiet part out loud) that are much more likely to engage with video game forums, post ratings, etc.. DT is definitely not designed for them. The people it is designed for are less likely to be the ones hanging around here. Which is why the game population continues to be very healthy and recently exploded again with the release of the new patch.
