Oh I absolutely agree with you. On one hand I'm a little glad because it minimizes the "your character changed get over it" people who don't care at all but like to flock in and try and drown us out, but I also think by not showing examples they're also minimizing backlash, or pre-backlash, from those of us who do care and are watching it very closely in case there's a major thing that doesn't get addressed (again).

They probably are also not giving any previews so that people who like the previews don't get disappointed if what they saw in a preview isn't what they get live (or do get but looks different in the live environment than they expected). Probably wise of them to head it all off and let people see what happens live rather than fretting one way or the other for two weeks. Even if it doesn't help the current fretting much.

It'll remain to be seen how many fixes suggested here they go with, but I'm a bit disappointed the old benchmark is gone so making side by side comparisons is getting harder and harder as we go along.
I should have saved the endwalker benchmark somewhere so I can still generate out the side by side, since people call you crazy if you say there's a difference without one in your post.

That's a very good point too. Something from a crispy demo image in a controlled environment isn't necessarily going to translate well (good or bad, subjectively) to our screens.

I'm not sure what to make of the additional Fantasia. One part of me wants to see it as a sign that features might get "drastic" changes but there's also a chance they just added another for 7.1 to save grace.
I'm still not feeling particularly hopeful, I guess we will see what happens in a few days but I don't have many expectations for my own character for a myriad of reasons.

7.2 is going to address fixes and feedback response as well, so I'm considering that more of the day where I'll find out my final verdict. Either way, I don't think I'll stop talking about it.

I really still think they should just push all these changes to the benchmark and collect more feedback before doing the whole live update and free fanta rodeo all over again. I don't for a second believe I'm getting my Miqo'te back. Also I just cancelled my sub. I'll see if they earn it back.

Guess I'm spending the next week or so taking as many screenshots as I can to compare the changes.

After how badly my Duskwight boy got hit last time I am not hopeful at all... It all being blind with no previews has me seriously on edge, especially with the free fantasia again.
I mean sure I get not wanting to show anything ahead of time to reduce the panic but I'm just panicking more.

I think the fact they added another fantasia means they know the changes are significant enough that folks will need to tweak...this is going to royally piss off those who are happy with their new characters and may/or may not please folks who are unhappy depending on the changes made.

I just hope against hope they've left the female hrothgar models untouched and focused on the issues with the older races. I am so happy with my girl that any change would be the final nail in coffin for me to peace out.

I dunno. I like my look too, but I do hope they address the awful rigging issues. I miss some of my old glams, but the shoulders are just huge.

I acknowledge the rigging issue. I am talking more about the face and overall design to be untouched. The rigging is related to gear, not the actual model. My ultimate fear their solution would be to increase the female hrothgar arms to be huge and muscly to match the gear issues and if that happens I will flip.
