Figured this'd be the thread to ask since I'd hope for less trolls than in-game, but what do people actually even do with their family all day? All my family ever did for Christmas for 2 decades was open gifts in the morning and then everyone separated for the rest of the day outside of dinner if that. I know some people have festivals they attend, but I assume that's a minority compared to the general population. Do families sit and watch christmas movies for 12 hours, have some religious event/tradition of household events that fill up 6-12 hours or? I'm assuming most if not all businesses are closed so you aren't leaving the house.

I envy your relaxed home life. Christmas is a performative nightmare for me - not even for religious reasons just bizarre adherence to "decorum" that turns the day into a 12 hr ordeal of being "on" - I hate it and then have to do the exact same thing again on the day after because for some reason my partner of 17 years is still not regarded as a proper member of the family so we have to split for Christmas and take turns doing it again visiting the family we didn't get to see on the next day. The last thing I wanna do is rush home after all of this and navigate organizing with 22 anonymous nerds. I imagine the feeling is similar for anyone who has to have any responsibility over xmas that extends beyond showing up at dinner time XD [I'm jealous - I'm very jealous!]

I know you're joking, but it certainly does feel like they're intentionally making it more difficult for other regions.

They're putting the ultimate right on Thanksgiving for the US and then Chaotic on Christmas Eve, which would affect most of NA and EU. Christmas isn't as big of a deal in Japan.

World first is also something SE acknowledges and congratulates people on. So even if someone doesn't care much about it, it's a semi-official thing.

The point is they're putting one of the competing regions (the largest one at that) at a disadvantage in a contest they recognize.

If they delayed it a week you'd have people complaining it was delayed because patches are already too long.


Also, DSR released 3 days before Golden Week started, you know, cuz Tuesdays.
