Counterpoint: In many countries, Dec 24 - Jan 1 is a period when wage slaves actually have time to play games because work shuts down. Why does SE release content like this on Christmas? Its the one holiday (most) people share and are away seeing family for. Not to mention 99% of groups that are attempting FRU will not be done.
This can all be avoided if SE would just move it up by 2-4 weeks and release it mid jan-end of jan or.... Just release it before FRU!!
please?
Whenever someone says "doesn't matter" or "you won't be clearing till x anyway" don't even play the game, all they do is sit in limsa or grind relic weapons, there's no thought passed "i don't do it so you shouldn't complain either", Dante Ameliev for instance, he's done nothing in this game, not even trials, this content clearly isn't for him yet he's yapping that you shouldn't care because you won't be doing it day one, it's really telling who's just straight jorking off yoshida for the sake of it because "i like to just sit in the game world" and people who genuinly have concerns about the future of the game because SE's clear lack of judgement with the past year+ of the games content drip feed."Does it matter?" "Just wait lol" "you don't need a static its fine"
This whole thing is massively disrespectful towards the players of the game, and this community fails to never amaze me with the double standard.
I can't run extremes or savages blind more than one week after release without being forced to watch a guide or having a party member regurgitate said guide in party chat after one/two wipes and enjoy the actually interesting part of fight design - a.k.a learning the actual fight, so no. It's not an option to *not* play it early for people like me. So I guess I just don't get to play this.
Enjoy your content, but please for the love of god stop defending every single thing this development team does.
he wanted to make the 'joke' about 24 people on the 24th.
I am from such a country but even then.
That is a time you mostly spend with the family, especially the 24th where I am from.
It wouldn’t have hurt them to release this content at the start of 7.1.
Releasing at the 24th and even making fun of it in the Live letter is honestly a bit tactless.
Even maybe at the 20th would have been fine but that would have probably hurt Yoshidas premade office calendar macros.
As others have said already. The problem is mostly blind prog.
It’s already annoying in pf after a week but with 24 man it will be a nightmare.
From what I understood, the reward structure for Chaotic heavily incentivizes taking as many new people into the duty and clearing as possible to get more rewards. So it doesn't matter how long you take to clear Chaotic, you'll most likely have people wanting to help you clear on the principle of getting more goodies for themselves. The fact that there is no loot lockout either may lead to people running it way more often over and over to gear jobs, so I don't think it will be that bad to not do it on release.I'm not a raider, but I think the problem lie with joining a static progression group. You begin 2 weeks later and people that began day one will be very probably won't want to restart the learning process from scratch. Or it will be hard to find groups to run the content if you begin searching 2 weeks after everyone.
To add onto this, this will likely become the new DRS and BA where it will get better to do it later on, since you'll eventually have Discord or PFs pop up with tank raid leaders who can walk people through the raid and give instructions to make reclears or fresh clears easier.
Ride the fire
They wanted to make sure Japan got world's first clear
Isn't the Ultimate gonna release on Thanksgiving as well? lmao
And a few years ago they had a maintenance that cut straight through Halloween.
These guys legit just do whatever they want in terms of scheduling, it seems. Christmas is celebrated in every region where this game is hosted, so they're messing it up for everyone really. Also, big agree with Kajv95; the window to actually do stuff without some dumbass ruining it for you with a "safety dorito" or blasting macros in the chat or demanding you peep the hector guide is super tiny. If you wanted to just run it blind but you have any family you care to see at all on christmas, you are basically cooked.
Figured this'd be the thread to ask since I'd hope for less trolls than in-game, but what do people actually even do with their family all day? All my family ever did for Christmas for 2 decades was open gifts in the morning and then everyone separated for the rest of the day outside of dinner if that. I know some people have festivals they attend, but I assume that's a minority compared to the general population. Do families sit and watch christmas movies for 12 hours, have some religious event/tradition of household events that fill up 6-12 hours or? I'm assuming most if not all businesses are closed so you aren't leaving the house.
A lot of people go on trips, so they're not even home. Personally, my family is small, so our christmas is akin to the type that you described, usually with a yummy dinner or a movie or something in the afternoon, but even then I wouldn't be able to walk away from it and prog for several hours with 23 others -- nor would I want to tbh. I'd be getting interrupted about stuff all day.Figured this'd be the thread to ask since I'd hope for less trolls than in-game, but what do people actually even do with their family all day? I think the larger issue is like... even if I personally didn't celebrate Christmas at all, and had no family obligations to deal with on that day, most other people do have things pulling them away from the computer that day. So finding 23 others in my situation who're willing to bang their head against the wall of this content for several hours blind might be rough because of that.
Personally I think the date was a dumb decision, but I'm past it. Their approach towards harder 24man content was the exact opposite of what I wanted in pretty much every day, and the glam coming out of it doesn't appeal to me at all. Legit would've been happy with just a re-release of the old alliance raids, unreal style, with amped up potencies on mechanics and maybe a faster rate of mechanics happening so we can see more of these fights. Instead it's gonna be 1 random boss from the tier, and ofc the tier they picked was the most overrun allyraid group of all time, and the boss they picked was one that's already been remixed via eden. I have 0 hype for it. Learning that it drops on christmas eve was like the cherry on top, because now I can't even hop in there and just dick around on day 1.
Off topic but.Figured this'd be the thread to ask since I'd hope for less trolls than in-game, but what do people actually even do with their family all day? My family lives in different places in the country so there normally is not much contact.
On Christmas we all meet at one place and celebrate. Gifts for the children, Christmas movies, going out for a walk together, eating together and simple sings like talking or board games.
It’s more or less just a time to calm down and ignore everything for one or two days.
