She looks like a gag or comic relief character. Does not inspire confidence in the FFXI raid for me.

Since she looks normal in the artwork I have to assume this is some temporary thing or doppelganger. It'd just be evil to show us regular Prishe in the art and then give us a weird cartoon instead. I have to assume she looks this way because we're going to fight her.
Doesn't bode well for the art direction though. Guessing if we do get Ark Angels they'll have big goofy limbs and golden spikes too or something. And all that extra stuff on her makes me worry for the gear design, which was already my number one fear.
It would be strange to make her look normal in the splash art but totally different in the actual game. Perhaps that's a different character or some temporary getup?
I don't think that's how Prishe is going to be in the actual game. SE has a sense of humor, but they don't seem to have the best timing. If they'd have paid attention to the complaints about the character model "improvements," they'd have maybe saved their "haha, hehe" for another time. I really do think they've lost touch with their fanbase. We'll see, though. I don't know how Prishe was in FFXI, but I'm 100% certain this screenshot of Prishe is a comedic bit.
Is Prishe known to have silly, jokey interactions? The only video I've seen with Prishe in it is the scene from Dissidia, where she's hanging out with Shantotto. She seemed to have a Final Fantasy main protagonist vibe, that someone like Zidane could match.
Three Ilm Knights, One Thousand Malm Road
if you ever played Dissidia, that's about as close to prishe as she was in FFXI. She was basically a MNK/WHM that loved eating Tavnazian tacos by being a beefy dps with some crazy good heals. but she didnt look like that with those cait sith boxing gloves. she was one of the 3 main characters other than Tenzen in the Chains of Promathia expansion (which she comes from in XI)I don't think that's how Prishe is going to be in the actual game. She's basically an adult in a child's body. So while her demeanor may have bordered on the PG sense of vulgar that'd fit in with some Limsa NPCs, she was nowhere in the realm of Hildebrand or other hokey humor. I'd probably say she was more the sort to punch first, ask questions later with a bit of the anime genki trope.I don't think that's how Prishe is going to be in the actual game. I've personally never held the expansion she came from in the regards others do. If you're someone who thinks the split narrative of Stormblood or Endwalker was bad, Chains of Promathia was worse in trying to weave multiple threads together with less focus and polish all around. Throw in an unlikable bargain bin Vegeta with Nag'molada as an occasional antagonist for a treat. Bahamut? Barely there. I know XI prioritized storytelling more than WoW did, but the latter didn't really set a high bar with the former often feeling the scrawling of an 8th grader.
I just went back and looked at the screenshot, and I had a "Wait, you're serious?" moment. Yeah... I think that might be her design going forward. Why the seven hells SE went with that, I can only guess. I certainly hope it wasn't them trying to be creative, because, well...if you ever played Dissidia, that's about as close to prishe as she was in FFXI. Ah crap Prishe either has really bad Tumors or water in the arms. Why the hell does this remind me of popeye……. maybe she also needs spinach for this……
This is totally gonna be some bullshit like, "A young Elezen came here and thinks she's Prishe from this other world." or some shit, and we're gonna follow her around to prevent her from molesting lizardmen while she's an abortion of a character just like Not-Ramza from the Ivalice series.
I have a feeling I'm unsubbing after this patch.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
