Completely random drops and/or random drop rate? No thank you. Terrible drop rate for items is one of the reasons I quit FFXI. And what you're describing about random loot sounds a lot like FFXIV's initial attempts at Diadem, which ultimately didn't pan out because people didn't WANT the unpredictability of rewards.

Random drops is one thing that should exist and ignoring the community completely on tbh because thats the main point of being on a game grinding for things you want that are worth a damn outside glowstone bs or stupid titles, you should grind drops until, and all those drops should be sellable so if you dont want to grind it you pay for it with massive amounts of gil, they should be like treasure maps but randomly drop from monsters you kill in the open world, then have to solve a riddle for a chance to get w/e is in the chest.

we should have things that are extremely over powered that are random drops we have to grind and work for, and im sorry stupid bs mounts and random titles and glowy weapons are not worth it just for appearence. Things like that are missing is one reason im eh with the game because nothing exist that is worth the grind that gives u an extreme edge over those who don't and im sorry if you work your little a.. off grinding you should have a massive edge over those who don't grind period instead of stupid things like titles and glowy weapons/mounts ... I mean im against potions like silence, poison etc not being useable in pvp. People should be rewarded for being prepared.

I know why they do it, like that but i disagree with a reasoning behind it I'm sorry but people should be expected to put in more than base effort. I mean melding is near worthless outside of crafting and gathering due to how sync works lol

Absolutely disagree. You would NOT make people happy with this. If there's a lot of work/grinding needed towards something, people need something tangible, not something random they may or may not get. You will end up frustrating countless people that may be unlucky enough to not get the drops they want time after time. I reiterate, people will not want to mindlessly grind for an uncertain hope on a randomized reward. This is literally what killed Diadem. The "solution" for people to sell the items if they get a ton of them would also be a pain, since they could control the market and now you get unlucky people who are already irritated they can't get the items the way luckier people did grinding for MONEY rather than items to buy what they want, which feels lame AF.

The older Relic weapons required jumping through a lot of hoops, doing different books of tasks/grinding to level the relics up to something BIS, and it was very divisive with people. If they were going to be insistent on something to have people grind for again, they'd have to make the final reward stay relevant for far longer than current weapon ilevel progressions. Since you like comparing to FFXI, the only good thing about the hell of geting gear in older FFXI was that the gear would still be good for far longer than in FFXIV. They'd need to shift FFXIV from vertical progression to more of horizontal progression.
