Why you cant have fun while progging the fight with a guide ?I will say this gamers nowdays value the reward at the end of a fight over the fight itself and memories made from the fight.
in my old days(put a back in my day memes xx)) we used to enjoy a fight and the memories the fun of it the laugh and everything else the reward from completing was the bonus
I mean first off, you can just not require a guide. it's one thing to require blind prog (that could take awhile to fill), but just making a guide not required would fill very quick.toxic people getting angry and attack me personally for a request to make things better lol.. classic
for people who tell us to go find a blind prog.. but we can't find a normal group that would stay after 4th attempt and you want them to stick for blind prog?
filling fights with gimmick mechanics that you must have patient people or just watch a guide.
for those who says it is people issue not the game.. so why you enforce it? make it harder to left party in middle of prog.. penalty or something..
game have the tools but it refuses to use them so that's why it is enforcing such a behavior that people hate progging for
Secondly, PF even creates strats for mechanics that don't require solving. Alarm 1 is a recent example where its a just dodge/git gud/use eyes mechanic, but PF wants to enforce a north mario kart strat. It's not the game's fault lmao

blind prog in pf is impossible, you have to be in a static if you want to blind prog, and if you want to really blind prog, you have to resolve each mechanics yourself
Nah. Just put in the pf description "blind prog, be prepared to wipe and read tool tips" now if you happen to find 7 other pf unicorns and clear it, thats another story.
Your problem is a people problem.
Players are allowed to have expectations on other players when they are essentially offering up their time. This is not toxic at all.
I see DRS progs that require proof of progress. Is that toxic? No, because the organizers have a specific goal in mind.
What is toxic is disregarding any expectations, and wasting people's time.
Hard content is a time commitment, and if I am making a Valigarmanda prog PF for example and I've seen enrage, I do not want to spend a good portion of my limited time teaching someone how to do the healer stacks.
On the same note, if I join a Valigarmanda Fresh Prog -> I should expect people not to know a lot of mechanics, so if I get mad that people don't know mechanics yet, that is a poor reflection on me and me alone, and if I leave after 4 attempts, then there is an argument to be made for me displaying toxic behaviour.
Punishing players for leaving in the middle of a prog gets messy when you take into account, we all have lives. And things can come up.
It's not about enforcing it, its about respecting the individual integrity of a player.
What if you displayed a behaviour that others viewed as toxic. Should we be allowed to force you to change to make things "better"?
Life is pain, highness; anyone who says differently is selling something.
and if someone has prog further and gives you clues ?
and if someonne resolve the strat before you ?
and how do you explain to everyone more complex strats without discord ?
well, then they broke the social contract of blind prog, and you kick em. A kick button exists and if some one resolves the strat before you, they share with the class thats how you do blind prog in a group setting. Well, I can direct you to JP party finder, they do everything in Pchat. Its a magical thing.
Its possible to do them blind, my static does this each tier - were slower than most other groups true and our strats are always a bit different from the guides but it is doable just need to have like minded people.
The ppl I play with always do blind, but that is of course a static. Takes a lot longer, but what else is there to do in this game while waiting for next patch.
PF is another matter
I want to emphasize this. I have talked to and met plenty of statics in my 10 years of play that do them blind. It's not the case that "everyone watches a guide". Yes, it is a relative minority in percentage terms that does them blind, but in raw numbers it's a high amount.
With good typing skills. Some people prefer voice, some people prefer typing.
Many people do it while working. But I do understand work can be exhausting and in that case I would recommend Extremes. You really do not need to study to clear those. I've literally just joined new Extreme trials blind and cleared them. I even guarantee you can do that with Valigarmanda because I blind progged it to enrage without a guide.
Absolutely not. Nobody who is recommending a guide in PF is trying to be toxic. Nobody. They just don't want you to hold themselves and the rest of the party back for no reason. Yes, you could do it blind (and there are blind PFs), but the fact is, a lot of that blind prog is figuring out stuff you learn by slow-motion replays and reading status effects - which a guide could just tell you and save time. In that sense, guides help people who don't have that sort of time to blind prog by avoiding unnecessary wipes. Wipes that would happen due to not knowing things the guide explains.do I think guides are bad nope not in the slightest do I think it is used in a toxic ways
