The problem is they keep changing who they're trying to make happy. The more they change their target demographic, the more likely the previously happy players end up dissatisfied. Fortunately for SE, a lot of the unhappy players are caught up in the sunk cost fallacy web so stay subscribed even when they're no longer having fun.

I disagree completely. This game has a little bit for everyone. Yes, at times they cater to certain groups more than others. However, they always create a little bit of content for each type of player. This either spreads content to thin, or certain pieces of content take into account too many types of players, leaving most unsatisfied in the end.
