    That's honestly irrelevant.

What matters is whether we as individual players are happy playing the games we pay for. If we're not happy, then we shouldn't be paying for those games. We should be using that money to purchase things that we will enjoy, whether it's another game or a movie streaming service or supporting a local sports team or just dining out for lunch an extra day each month.

The FFXIV of old won't be coming back. Things have changed since then, including the player base. I listen to my friends who just starting playing in the last 3 years talking about the game and how great things have been compared to what they expected (and sometimes feared) as new players. A lot of the time, I'm mentally saying to myself "but this not the way it was when I started playing" and I'm fairly certain most of them would not have stuck around if they had started at the same time.

The company is not going to let the developers revert systems back to what they had been in Stormblood when it means possibly losing most of the players that enjoy what the game currently is.

A game isn't worth paying for because of what it once was, or what it might be. Pay for a game because it is worth it for what it is. What you invested into the game in the past was for that past. It's not worth current investment if you're not getting a good return for the time and money, and there's nothing to stop you from returning if things are changed for the better in the future.

The developers can't please everyone, no matter how much the OP wants to pretend otherwise, and there comes a point when sometimes we need to accept that we are going to be the ones left unhappy.

Your on the assumination sticking around means investing into current game, when in fact there are other reasons to that have nothing to do with game play wise like the rolepaly scenes plus its good to stick around while working out how to translate how the game is coded to one day run a private server of the game based on older versions.

And honestly yes you can i've given plenty of simple ways to do so without harming one of the other groupings the people who say it as a defense are just a bunch white knights lol defending bs they know is bs

It is relevant. iirc the update was earlier this year, and Niantic actually responding to the players as quick as they have could support their argument that people putting the game down is actually effective.

Also to be clear I joined the game in ShB, and there certainly are things I'm less sure I'd want back from the SB or older as-is, like TP, the accuracy stat, or pets with hp and hitboxes. As much as I cry about the 1.5s Glare/Broil cast change in EW I don't not get how useful it is and will accept it if that's never going to be changed back, for example. That doesn't mean they shouldn't ever try some of the things people liked from back then again in ways that fit the current design of the game though.

If it comes down to it I will put the game down, and a lot of posts on this board seem to suggest that's exactly what many are doing, but there's still enough things I do enjoy with it that I'm not at that point yet.

Actually op no you can not. The amount times ppl conplain on forums. Ppl wanted harder ff experience dawntrail difficulty now casauls complain, you got savage ulti and ppl complaining those shouldn't have glam locked to them, we got ppl complaining about the smallest thing no one cares about. No person would be satisfied even if the devs died working to add what ppl want. Yoy can now get the interior of large ppl talking about how they wish u can make out doors a large. Like no one ever gonna be satisfied its human nature to be greedy and selfish at times just look at some of the weird stuff that ppl complain about that not valid.

Is there a way to criticize a product without being labeled as complaining?

    Constructive feedback vs criticism:

    - Is it being done with an understanding of the real problem, or is it mistaken in what the cause of the problem is? (The DDoS threads have a lot of this. Square Enix's servers are fine. What SE needs to do is CHANGE ITS DATA CENTER ISP! because they are the ones causing the lag. Yes you, NTT.)
    - Is the feedback coming from a place of wanting specific improvements, or simply disliking that something was or was not changed? "My rotation got over simplified" or "My rotation is now too clunky" are valid, but then we had a dozen people saying, "My job plays exactly the same as before and I wanted more changes" - so yeah you can't please anyone.
    - Is the feedback done in order to give the person the information they need to make the improvements, or is it being done to hurt them? "I need more engagement in my rotation than just 1 2 3 oGCD" is a constructive criticism. "You guys are stupidheads for dumbing my job down so much" is complaining.
    - Is it being given out of respect for the process, including the timelines involved in AAA game development, or is it demanding changes be made immediately? (I admit, I was guilty of this one with the Pokémon Go avatar changes when I demanded immediate reversion. No, I did not get immediate reversion. I did not get any reversion at all. Sigh.)

I gave a perfect solution for everyone when it comes to diffuclty views beiing a global star system that is charater set, and you will only enter with other players with the same star setting as you star 1- casual basic dumb dumb dungeon/raid etc 2 stars= medium skill for med players and 3 stars for experts in the game (think about wows mythic plus system but instead of needing keys and waiting we get a setting in the game that syncs to other players in the game.

so.. check mate just solved the diffuculty views 100%

I really feel like the game needs to go back to its ARR/HW styled encounter design that was more open-ended and less heavy on scripted AoE patterns, bodychecks and puzzle mechanics that demand precise timing/positioning, at least for midcore content.

Some people are only happy when they're unhappy. They'll always find something to complain about and will let everyone know why they're unhappy. Everything in the world could be going amazing for them and they'll just end up complaining about things being too good or that it's only a matter of time before things get worse.
