I still fail to see how "DEI / SBI" stuff affected Dawntrail at all.

All I see is bad writting for kids, not "western audience", one character being omnipresent while being a stereotypical shonen character (by nature divisive and obviously a japanese stereotype) and the WoL being irrelevant in the story for most part, and that has nothing to do with what you are talking about.

There are certainly some things that would fit.

- strong female character (wuk lamat) whose basically only flaw is that she does not believe in herself enough because she lived in the shadow of her brothers (males)
- big bad male bully (bakool) (toxic male) who suddently get redeemed as soon as he submits to wuk lamat because he accepts she is just superior to him in any way
- koana the science/smart guy who first talks down to her (toxic male) but later turns out to be a total siscon and also submits to her becoming extremely submissive giving up on the throne despite being the obviously better choice
- soraal ja (another toxic male type) who is so stupid and stubborn that he refuses to submit to the strong female character and thus has to die but luckly for some reason left behin his little clone to become wuk lamats pet
- otis another toxic male who values stupid male stuff like honor and valor thus also has to die (twice) in really stupid ways ...
- gulool jaja who also has toxic male energy liking to fight strong enemies for fun which annoys wuk lamat. just exists to orchestrate her becoming the new ruler and then is killed off as he is no longer useful and its her time to shine

another sign of DEI influence is usually the putting down / mishandling of old beloved characters (like the scions)
- all scions immediately love wuk lamat for no reason calling her lamati and stuff
- estinien pretty much demoted to the "comedy relief" character and with the exception of the gondola scene the same is also true for graha
- thancred and urianger could be replaced by 2 generic npcs and it would not change anything
- alphi and alisae degraded to wuk lamat cheerleaders
- y'shtola -> exposure cat
- vrtra -> dragon ex machina
- erenville and krile standign on the sidelines while wuk lamat is girlbossing through the 2nd half of the msq
- the ultimate disgrace for krile
-- big moment stolen because the earring being useless without the power if wuk lamats new pet
-- wuk lamat complaining how bored and annoying she is having to learn about kriles origins

In the end we just have 2 girl boss characters girlbossing it out in the final trial while we stand there and watch.

Though i will agree DEI and woke is slowly but surely polluting FF14.
As for Yoshida i dont want him to step down only to be replaced by some non-expirienced director who has no idea what FF is (yes it was Yoshida's story in ARR but you can only hit jackpot every so often)
As i understand all the core members of the staff were spread out on SE other projects, hoping to fix their catastrophic financial disaster. FF14 was their only (kinda) succesfull project so they took very talented people to make 3 more of those only to abandon FF14 in... this state.
I myself had enoth of DT story and dev responds crap (music and duties are amazing though) and cancelled my sub till 7.1. Ill give them 1 more chance to fix: story, Woke Lamat, PVP ballance, job stuff (dancer, BLM...) If this team can not provide what we, players, want the most, then they can wait for those other projects to make them cash like last hits of the market: Concord, Dustborn, Acolyte... you name them.
P.S. I LOVED EW past MSQ content. i Loved Zero. I really wished she can be a scion because of so much potential. Instead we are praying to every possible god for Woke Lamat to NOT become a main character.
P.P.S. They did EVERY scion dirty. And DT trailer was so misleading i almost want to sue for false advertisemnt.

well to be fair SE is such a big company and has so many projects you cant say for sure.
I myself saw Soyny drowning in this MODERN CULTURE for so long and thanked Naoki Yoshida for being a SHIElD of this game from that nonsence. Sure we had some here and there but it was always some situational an minor stuff i couldnt care less. Let those bunbois wear thir fairy princess outfit and skirts. Thye dont ever leave Limsa anyway.
Now it seems that the wall was breached. Only 7.1 will tell.
